Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - #185 Spring into Spring

Hello sweet crafty friends!  Welcome to my blog.
So pleased you dropped by.

As you can see, I'm back from my holiday.  Hubby and I had a wonderful time even though the weather was not good.  We just made the most out of what we had and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!  Might show you a few piccies in the next few days.

The new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers is hosted by Peggy and the theme is Spring into Spring!!
Yes, I know, here in Australia we are well into Autumn (although going by the temperatures we've had lately you wouldn't think so) but in the UK where this challenge originates it is Spring.  So, we are celebrating that lovely season of new growth, new births, warmer temps  and sunshine and we would love to see your Spring creations.
As usual, anything you care to make is fine.  A card, layout, mixed media piece, home decor .. as long as it has a lovely Spring theme.
We would love for you to join in.
Just please read the rules and remember our 15 challenge limit.

So, my contribution is this card made with 'Spring' flowers and some beautiful Maja papers.

The papers were torn and then the top layer was crumpled a bit as well so that the flower ribbon could peek out from underneath.  This ribbon is available at Megs Garden.  It has those tiny flowers on both edges and I actually cut it in half so I could slide it easily in between the layers.

Some  strands of satin ribbon (also available at Megs Garden as part of the Bundles of Goodies) and, of course, I had to add some prills as well.

Aren't those papers stunning!!  Love the faded script .. beautiful!

My favest flowers in the cluster (yes, they are also from Megs Garden) ..

.. and I popped some sisal underneath for a bit of soft texture.

The tiny leaf branches are an EK Success punch.  Sorry, but I don't have the name of it.

So, I do hope I have inspired you to join in with the Challenge.
The Challenge ends on the 9th April and we would love to see your beautiful 'Spring into Spring' creations.

  6. So, so pretty. First thing I noticed were the ribbons! They really do sort of 'set up' the card. Really love the way you've 'distressed' the paper layers underneath too. And your prills are well, prilliant....hahaaaa!!!! So glad you had a nice trip, despite the weather. And yeah, it doesn't feel very autumnal yet, except for all the mushys / fungi popping up everywhere here:):)

  7. This card is so so pretty Marg! I love the lavender color of the ribbons, and of course I love the sweet blooms and the layers and the ripped edges... In fact I should say I just love everything about your card! And yes summer is holding on for us and we are waiting to see if Debbie the cyclone is going to come and give us some rain later in the week too.. Rain is always good, but not flooding dangerous rain... So glad you had a lovely holiday! Enjoy the rest of the week!

  12. A delightful card to celebrate Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. But Spring anywhere is wonderful after the darker days of winter. I'm a huge fan of Maja and the papers are lovely with the blooms and ribbons. Love the way the draw the eye down the page. The distressed edges are so effective with the drifts of Prills and Sisal. Gorgeous work - I especially like the image inside the front cover.

  14. It's great to have to have you back Margaret. Sorry you had bad weather, but I hope you had a great time anyway! Your card is just gorgeous, I really love those soft pink vintage papers! The torn layers are a favourite of mine, and the wee flower trim is a lovely addition! Wonderful flower arrangement, the soft purple ribbon is so beautiful hanging down like that! Such a lovely creation that can be used for almost any occasion! Welcome back my friend. hugs :)

  15. What a beautiful card Margy Love the soft pretty colours and there is nowhere quite as beautiful as UK in the Spring. We are also in autumn here but the temps are still in the high 20's and I am a bit over it now. At least we have had some good rains so hopefully we will have our water rationing reversed sometime soon. So glad you enjoyed your trip away and I can't wait to see your pics.

Your card is beautiful, as allways. A lovely shabby chic look and I like the idea with the trail of little flowers and the little beads are a perfect add. Gorgeous! Marlies
