A Duo of Christmas Cards

Hello sweet peeps and welcome to my blog.  So nice to have you drop by.

It is December .. can you believe it??  I certainly can't.  I think I say this every year .. where has this year gone??  I think I might have blinked and it just whizzed past me .. LOL!!

I am well and truly back into the race to get my Christmas cards done.
Those of you who have followed me this year will know that, at the beginning of the year, I had fully intended to make at least 2 Christmas cards each month.  Well, that idea fell by the wayside very early in the piece I'm afraid.  I only managed to get about 8 cards done by the end of October, and this month I have managed to do another 5, so I am still way behind.  Must admit though, I'm in a better place this year than at the same time last year so, hopefully, next year, I might actually end up in front .. hopefully.

So, having said all that, I am sharing two more cards with you today.

Card #1

Both cards have been made with Maja papers and all edges distressed.

Some leaves cut with my Silhouette, a couple of tiny red roses and  two pomegranate apples for the cluster.

I love these small Christmas Bauble Greetings from Scrapmatts.  They are so pretty and the  perfect size for cards.

I had some small squares of scrap paper on my desk so decided to roll them up and tie them together with a twine bow.  Love how they turned out.

 The usual on the inside.

Some swipes and splashes of white paint .. and done!!

So, onto
Card #2

Yep, same as before .. Maja papers and distressed edges.

Added a bit of gauze under the cluster ..

.. and a bit of glitter  here and there.

Another Scrapmatts chippie, a bit of washi tape ..

.. and the usual on the inside.

Voila!!  Two more cards added to the pile.
Now to put my head down and get some more made.  Need to do heaps over the weekend so they can be posted Interstate.  Ah well, no rest for the wicked!

Thank you for visiting my blog and do enjoy the rest of your day.

Take care, stay safe and God Bless.

  1. Both are stunning Marg, love the traditional colours, such super use of those wonderful papers! The idea of the rolled up scraps of paper is genius, such a great effect! The white paint splatters are the perfect finishing touch!! And of course we always start the year with great intentions lol... I think a lot of us will recognize that bit... xxx

Your cards are gorgeous, love the colors and love the layers and flowers and distressed edges.. I always love your cards! I hope you are not getting the heat we are having up here, we are having a heat wave... Very hot today... And have a happy weekend!

  4. Oh boy, you sure do have a way of pulling me in with your amazing sense of style! Just adore both of these Margaret! Can't go wrong with traditional red and green, my fav for sure, and your layering is always amazing! Love the little ornaments and the cinnamon sticks. Totally saved a copy of this for future inspiration!! I have long finished my cards for this year. I have my sale first week of November, so I need a minimum of 50 done by then. It works well because then I have all of November and December to create cards for next years stash! lol

I'm a big fan of the traditional colours, the layering and distressing. The rolled pieces are a lovely touch too. Thanks for the inspiration.

  7. As you say - you're way ahead cf to last year. So just imagine what NEXT year will be like? Cos you'll build on this year, no doubt. You'll have 1/2 em done by June I reckon, giggles....no pressure there, btw! I do LOVE those baubles; the chippy looks fabulous & those rolls. WELL! Now there is serendipity at work right there. They look TOTALLY amazing. ADORE! And I love the way you add that splash of white. Especially on these. Gives that sense of wintery snow. I'm pretending. Blocking out the hot summer weather!!! Sorta working...... [insert eye roll!!!]....
