Man Card #2

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.
I'm here to share the second of two male cards I created just recently.  If you haven't seen it, and you'd like to, the first one is HERE.

This card, and the previous one, were both made predominantly with Prima's Engraver Collection.
I really love these papers .. my fave colour combo!!
This card was actually made first and took me a few days to complete.  Then I used the left over bits, and some things I decided not to use here, to make the other one and that only took an hour or so to make.  This one is a bit more involved than the other card but still ... not sure if there is a lesson to be learned here or not.

I've never used staples before but thought I would give it a try and, I like it!!  A great way to attach the twine from the labels so they don't just dangle every which way.

Had to add some crackle and, of course, swipe some gesso as well.

Cut out the Happy Birthday with my Silhouette Portrait.  I actually cut two and glued them together for some extra depth/height .. whatever.  I also covered it in Glossy Accents, although you can't really see that here.

The inside .. of course.

The stamp is from the 'Pearls of Wisdom' Set by My Favourite Things.

A couple of closies showing the layers.

.. and another front view (just in case you forgot what it looked like LOL!!).

So, that is all my 'man' cards done for this year .. Yayy! .. and now I can get started on Christmas!!
That's quite freaky actually, because I have never started my Christmas makes before the end of November.  Hopefully this means less stress!! ..  or not!! .. LOL!!

Thank you so much for visiting and special thanks to you sweet people who take the time to leave me some love.  I really, really appreciate it!!  Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day.

Take care and God Bless.

  1. Aaah! So I had I backwards- THIS is your not-left overs card! I see now- much more layered & intricate.. equally fantastic! Oh yes, staples are THE best! Love your sentiment up the side like that, too. And the inside looks amazing:) GLAD the Chrissy cards are getting started early... Pat on the back from me!!!!!!

  2. So awesome!! I've been working mostly in pastels and bright colors lately, but I'm feeling the neutral now! Thanks for inspiring me!

  3. Hi marg! My word I love all those layers and tags and the knots in the twine and also the tape measure... Definitely love this man card, it looks fabulous! Enjoy what is left of the week!

  4. A fantastic male card,i love what you have achieved here!

  5. Another intricately layered, embellished and grungy card. I love this collection too and have lots of masculine cards to make, so I may be tempted to scrap jack some of your ideas! Please send me a pm if that's not OK. It goes without saying that I will acknowledge you as the creator of such awesomeness. TFS

  6. Another stunning masculine card. The papers are fabulous and I just love the way you tie your string from the tags. I always think mine look lame just left. It is all in the detail. I am just too quick I need to slow down and do it right. I love the cardy inspiration here. I have done a couple of online card making courses which have been fab - now I just need to get cracking. Thank you Margy for wonderful inspiration.

  7. fabulous work Margy , always love seeing your amazing masculine cards .. love x

  8. What awesome layers you have here Marg & love how you have done the string in knots. Also love Engraver! Looking forward to seeing your Christmas cards soon!!
