2Crafty December Shares #3

Hi everyone, so pleased you could drop by at this busy time of the year.
This is the last of my 2Crafty December shares and it is an AT Block.
2Crafty Chipboard used
ATC Hearts & Stars
Interlocking Grid Panel
Funky Heart Swirls
Summer Leaf Stems

The front with the Interlocking Grid Panel ...

... right side with 1 piece of the Summer Leaf Stems and 1 piece from the Funky Heart Swirls on the lid ...

... and the left side with another piece from the Summer Leaf Stems.

Both of the Summer Leaf Stems were coloured with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  I also opened up the tips of the leaves by wetting them thoroughly and then gently separating the layers.  Once dry I coloured the inside with Pine Needles DI.  I  then sprinkled some clear glitter on the leaves for a bit of sparkle.

Underneath the leafy stems you can see some Viva Crackle Paint that I spread through a stencil.  I was so thrilled at the way it turned out.  I think it looks fabulous.  You can see it better in the photo below.

Isn't it awesome??  After the crackle was dry I dabbed on some silver Distress Paint and, did I tell you I love the result??  This is definitely staying in my repertoire.   Gotta say it again, I love it!!

The Interlocking Grid Panel was heat embossed in silver and then I very gently bent it to fit around one corner of the Block.  Once it was glued down I added some micro beads to the section on the front.

Tucked in amongst the flowers are the small stars from the ATC Hearts and Stars.  I attached them to some wire so they would stand up and also added some micro beads to the front of them.

The main stem of the Funky Heart Swirl was lightly coated in gesso and then sprinkled with glitter.   The little hearts were coloured with nail polish and, while they were still wet, I added some micro beads ...

... and so, as this is my last post for 2014 ...

I would like to wish you all a very, very Happy New Year.  May each new day be filled with happiness and love.
Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you have found a little inspiration here.  Hope to see you back in the New Year.

My very first 2Crafty Post!!

Hello everyone!!  I am so excited to be sharing my very first 2Crafty reveal!!
I was thrilled to bits when Di Garling and Vanessa Tiberti invited me to be on this amazing Design Team.  Thank you so much ladies, I so appreciate your confidence in me and will do my best not to let you down.  As a Resident Guest Designer, I needed to make 3 card size items.

So, my first item is, (Surprise! Surprise!) a card.
The 2Crafty Chipboard pieces used are
Corner Flower Vine
Ornate Buckle
Heidi Vines
The Ornate Buckle was coloured with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and then clear embossed.
As this is an Easel Card I used half of the Corner Flower Vine to anchor the easel.  This piece was coloured the same as the Ornate Buckle with Spiced marmalade Distress Ink and clear embossing powder.
When I received the Corner Flower Vine it turned out to be a bit bigger than I had expected but, as chipboard is so adaptable, I knew I would still be able to use it.  I simply cut off the piece needed for this card and still had the left over bit for another project.  I really love this ornate piece and it fitted the card beautifully.
I needed some leaves to go with my flower cluster so I trimmed some of the leaves from the Heidi Vine.  I sprayed them with water until they were quite wet.  Then, very carefully, I gently separated the layers to about half way down the leaf as I didn't want them to come apart completely.  I then shaped them and left them to dry.  Once dry, I simply coloured them with Crushed Olive Distress Ink.
I really love how they turned out.

My next  piece is a tag.
2Crafty Chipboard pieces used are
Corner Flower Vine
Tiny Kathleen Frame
Chicken Barbed Wire Small
As you've probably guessed, I've used the other half of the Corner Flower Vine from the previous card on this tag.
All the chippies on this piece were coloured the same way.  Coated with gesso first and then lightly  coloured with Broken China Distress Ink.   I used Black Soot for the stamping on the background and on the chippies as well.
The chicken barbed wire comes in a 5" square piece and I simply cut off a narrow strip to place on the side of my tag.

My last piece  is an AT Block.
2Crafty Chipboard pieces used are
Tiny Edwin Corners
Tiny Edwin Frame
ATC Mask
ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars
The block measures 2 3/4" x 2 3/4".
The Tiny Edwin Corners were brushed with gesso and then clear embossed.  The tiny Hearts were coloured with red acrylic paint.  I then applied a little bit of glitter and coated them with Glossy Accents.
This is the opposite side of the Block which is decorated in a similar way with the same chipboard pieces.  Don't you just love those gorgeous ornate corners??
The front of the Block has the Tiny Edwin Frame which was also painted with gesso and then just clear embossed.  The ATC Mask was coloured with red acrylic paint and when that was dry I went over the central section of the feather with gesso.  I then coated that section with glitter and used a black Sharpie for the doodles.  Then I simply glued the tiny gems around the top of the mask.
I used the centre piece from the Frame to make the small tag.   Trimmed a little off one edge, rounded the corners a bit more and  then I covered the tag with some designer paper and inked around the edges.
The chippies on the lid were treated the same as those on the sides.  Painted the corner with gesso and then clear embossed and the hearts with red acrylic paint and covered with Glossy Accents.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with these gorgeous chipboard pieces.  2Crafty have a huge selection of pieces that are the perfect size for cards and other small projects and, even if you receive something a little bigger than expected, such as the Corner Flower Vine, it is easily cut up into manageable sizes for your projects.

July Reveal for Meg's Garden #2

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog!!  Well, we're back to the rain again in Adelaide, the sunshine only lasted for one day!!  It was so lovely but back to the dull and dreary again!!  (sigh)
I'm back today to share the second part of my Meg's Garden Design Team reveal for July.  This time I have an AT Block to share with you.

I make my AT Blocks from scratch and I really love making them!  They could be used for so many different things, I thought this one could be used as a Wedding or Party Favor.  You could fill it with almonds or a piece of jewelry or anything else you may prefer.
Still using the 'Correspondence' papers I cut them to size and stenciled the side pieces with gesso before glueing them down and then adding small pearls to the center of the flowers.  I edged the papers with gesso as well.  Once all the sides were glued down I added the gorgeous Mini Rose Braid around the bottom.

The Dodo Vine Wire on the top of the box was randomly covered with glitter, although the photos don't show it all that well.  The Ivory Primula is another flower I absolutely love and I just added a small die cut to complete the cluster.  The heart was cut with a Fiskars Shape cutter and I simply glued the paper to it and wrote the Thank you by hand.  (I know, my hand writing is awful, but just pretend it looks pretty and that I didn't forget to rub out the pencil lines!  LOL)

I also lined the inside of the box with a different sheet of the papers and edged those with gesso as well ...

... and here is the box filled with lollies.  This little box only measures 2.75" x 2.75" but you would be amazed at how much will fit inside.

Hoping you like my little ATB and that, perhaps, I have inspired you today!

Ivory Primula
Mini Rose Braid

ATC Block

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog!!  Hope you've all had a good day today and that the weather has been nice in your part of the world.  It's been absolutely beautiful here in Adelaide, almost like summer again.

Today I'd like to share an ATC Block  that I made.  I first saw one of these on Astrid Maclean's blog and I really loved the one she created.   She has made a couple more since then and they have all been gorgeous.  Any of you who visit Astrid's blog will know about her amazing creations.  Her work is stunning!!
Anyway, on one of her comments on my blog, she told me about Jenny Marples of 'Pushing the Right Buttons' and how she uses a lot of mixed media on her cards so, of course, I had a look and fell in love with her creations too.  Well, Jenny also makes ATC Blocks and I totally fell in love with one of hers and could no longer resist the temptation to make one of my own.  I'm afraid I pretty much copied Jenny's  because I loved it so much.  If you'd like to take a look at hers, HERE is the link, and HERE is the link to Astrid's Blog for any of you who haven't been there before.  Take the time to check them both out, you will not be sorry.  They are both awesome artists and create the most gorgeous things!!
So, here is my block.
The block was made from paperboard and measures 3 x 3 on each side, and the papers I've used to cover it are from BoBunny's Weekend Market Paper Pack.  I've had these papers for a long time and never got around to using them.  I'm so glad I still had them in my stash because they were perfect for this Block.  The colours were just what I was looking for.
The leaves were cut with my Silhouette except for the autumn leaves, they came from  Meg's Garden.com.  The flowers are a mix from different retailers but I have no idea what brand they are.  All the edges, including the leaves, were inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
The chipboard Trellis is the Moroccan Shape with Cutouts from Imaginarium which was heat embossed with Whispers Metallic Embossing Powder.  It does actually look like bronze but that doesn't show too well on the photos. The cutouts were coloured with Versa Colour in Gold, Silver and Bronze and then clear embossed.
View from the top.  Added a few gem sprays from Magnolia Ink to the flower cluster.  The chipboard tag is from G45 as are all the other chippie labels.
A closie of the cluster on the front ...
... on the right side ...

... on the right corner ...
... and on the left side.
 A view of the inside.
I enjoyed making this block so much that I am definitely going to make more of them.  Have no idea what I'm going to do with them, although I do think that they would make a lovely little gift when filled with chocolates or sweets of some kind.  They could even be used as Birthday Card replacements although they would not be easy to post.   Perhaps just for ones that get hand delivered.   Hmmmmm!!!  Might have to consider that.  Would give me a wonderful excuse to make more, not that I need an excuse!!  LOL!!

Well, I hope you like my little ATC Block and I want to thank Astrid and Jenny for giving me the inspiration.  I absolutely loved making this!!!  Gotta make More!!!!!!

I have decided to enter this into the Challenge at 613 Avenue Create

Thank you so much for visiting and putting up with my nonsense.  I do hope you enjoy what's left of your day.
Take care and God Bless.
