A Sweet Anniversary

Hello dear friends and welcome to my blog today, so pleased you dropped by. A very special welcome to my new followers.  So very happy you are coming along on my crafty journey.

My oldest son and his gorgeous lady celebrated their Anniversary a couple of weeks ago and I'd like to share the card I made for them.  Difficult sometimes, making an Anniversary card.  I mean, when you're making a card for both a male and a female, which way do you go??   Feminine or masculine!!!  Well, I guess I went feminine with this one, although I did try to tone it down a bit (Sort of!!  LOL!!).

The papers are mainly from Maja and, once again, I've used the blank from a die cut flourish as one of my layers.

The white bloom is one available from Megs Garden, the other little bloom is from my stash.
The leaves are a die from Memory Box and, along with a twine bow and some gauze,  I also added a few prills to the cluster.

The wire ends from the flowers were losely twisted around the end of a paint brush and left to dangle down the card.

The greeting was printed out from my computer and I simply mounted it on a scrap piece of chipboard.

The inside ..

My daughter-in-law loved it .. my son's reaction??  Meh! .. It's a girl card!!  LOL!!

Have finished all my Birthday, etc. cards for this year (still have a couple to share) so now I can concentrate on Christmas!!
Definitely time to get into the Christmas spirit!!  Woo! Hoo!

Thank you so much for visiting and taking a look.
Have a wonderful rest of the week.
Take care and God Bless.

  1. Hi Marg, I hope the weather is being good for you.. it is not too hot at the moment, but oh so dry... the grass is crunchy underfoot.. so any big rain drops would be most welcome!! Your card is really pretty, I love the flowing twisted wires down the card and your clever way of using the negative on the card too.. lovely flowers, and amazing layers.. It is easier to make a pretty card I think and I am sure your card was well received.. Have a great week ahead, and enjoy each day as it comes along!! xx

  2. LOL! I can imagine your son rolling his eyes. But sorta pleased, I reckon anyways. If he's like my boys! I think it's gorgeous & I really love how you're using your die-cut negatives for the last couple of cards. Gee, they look great. On that almost 'boy' paper behind, LOL!!! LOOOOOOOVE your flower clusters. I reckon if I scrapped with you for a bit I might even USE them more:) I almost want to after seeing this card. Almost!!!

  3. I think it's beautiful! What a treasured keepsake!

  4. Another beautiful work of art Margaret !!! Lovely

  5. Love the colour combo Margaret. They could be seen as masculine colours. The use of the negatives from die cutting looks so impressive, as do the trailing vines. All in all, you got it just right, not toooo feminine, despite your Son's reaction. Gorgeous and inspiring work. TFS

  6. LOL I get the same reactions and I need to make a card for our 39th Anniversary on Saturday... They are trying to paint around me too :O I may have to scraplift this one it is so pretty and kind of my CAS style.. Love the colours Marg <3

  7. Such an adorable card...feminine with a touch of masculinity!!! I also live the idea of the negative die cut paper...Just gorgeous...

  8. Wonderful!! Love the embellies on this one so much, I bet they adored it too!!

  9. Another stunning card that I have bookmarked for the future. I always find such inspiration when I visit your blog, thank you for that! I love that flourish design coming out from your floral arrangement, what a lovely design element and it creates a beautiful flow. Love the denim blue tones and the cheesecloth is lovely here, an added element that shabbies it up and adds a sweet feminine touch! sending hugs again :)

  10. Hmmmm your son is never too old to get a smack :D :D :D It is a beautiful card and I think he really liked it... just being macho. I love the die cut blank bit... so clever. You make the twirly bits look so pretty - mine end up looking like a perm :D :D :D another beauty.
