Art Journal Pages

Hello dear crafty friends!  So pleased you dropped by!

I'd like to share an Art Journal page with you today.  I don't do these very often although I'm not sure why, because I really do enjoy them.  I made this one quite a while ago and hadn't got around to sharing it.  Just hope I can remember how I put it together and what products I used, LOL!!

I know for sure that I started with a piece of watercolour paper.  Well, duh!  That one was easy to work out wasn't it??  LOL!
First sprayed the paper with water and then added Lindy's Magicals (Danny Zucko's Denim).  Can't actually remember if I sprinkled the powder onto the paper or if I premixed it and spread it with a brush.  Either way works well.
The splatters were also created with Magicals (Tears on my Pillow Tangerine) and I coloured the ribbon with the same Magicals.  The stamping was done with Archival Ink.
A bit of doodling around the edges with a fine texta and I added a few Prills and micro beads.
Layered on some diecuts, a floral chipboard piece (from Little Birdie), fibre ribbon, ephemera ..
.. and topped it off with a Little Birdie flower which I coloured using the same Lindy's Magicals.
I find creating these Journal pages very relaxing.  I do make a bit of a mess at times when creating the background (I do remember ending up with blue fingers after this one .. LOL!!) and then just toss on some stuff I find lying around .. it can be very therapeutic.
Normally I would glue these pages into a Journal but this one is being gifted to a friend.
Hope she likes it!

Thank you so much for stopping by and a huge thank you to the lovely peeps who left me some sweet comments to read on my last post.  Very much appreciated!!

Take care and God Bless

  2. Margaret, your journal page is gorgeous, the colours and elements you added are just perfect. It did make me smile that you couldn't remember all the steps - on the very rare occasions I do a journal page I just get lost in the process and forget too - I think that is a really nice position to be in. This is such a lovely gift for your friend! Hugs, Anne xxx

  4. Such a gorgeous colour combo with the intense blue and pops of Tangerine. Art Journalling is just the thing to kick start a mojo, try out a new technique or just play for the fun of it. Love how this turned out. x
