Sear's & Son Card #3

Hello and welcome to my blog.
I have another male card I'd like to share with you.  The paper's I've used are, again from Kaisercraft's Sears & Son Collection.   I think I might be stuck in a rut (hehe), but I really do like these papers for male cards.  All the papers were  distressed with my Ingvild Bolme Distresser Tool and then inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I also stamped them with the same ink and Kaisercraft's Attitude Background Stamp.
Used brown cardstock for the base and matted it with kraft cardstock.  This one is an Easel Card, and I've made it so the back drops away to give it a totally different silhouette.
The cogs and the clock shape were cut with my Silhouette Portrait and were coloured with Walnut Stain and then lightly swiped with a Kaisercraft Stamp Pad in Silver.
The image was obtained from the net.
Made a tag from Kraft cardstock, stamped it with the same background stamp in Walnut Stain and then with the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I  also made a small pocket out of some of the dp and placed it behind the image to hold the tag.
The strips of DP are mounted onto  pieces of paste board to give them some height so as to hold the front in place.

That's all for now.
Thank you so much for stopping by and please take care.
God Bless.

Booklet Tag Card

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to my blog.
I'd like to share a card I made based on one I found on Astrid Maclean's blog.  She called it a Booklet Tag Card, hence the title for my post.
You can find Astrid's Blog and her wonderful creations HERE.
I made this card for my Granddaughter's Birthday, she turned 11 today and, as you can probably tell, she loves all things pink.
For the card base I created a cutting file for my Silhouette Portrait from one of their Doily SVG files.  Needed a little help with that from my Daughter-in-Law Kerry-Jean Watson.   She's very clever with all things computer based.  Very handy for little old me who is not so cluey about such things.  Kerry has a blog where she shares her own fabulous creations and you can find it HERE.

From the picture below you can see that this is similar to a gatefold card except that the front actually overlaps.

Inside left - The paper is from My Mind's Eye's Lost & Found.  Stamped and fussy cut the little heart and attached it with foam dots.  Also stamped the little vine and coloured it with textas.
The centre - Made a pocket from a half doily also cut with the Silhouette Portrait.  The paper on the pocket is from a free pack which came with a Scrapbooking Magazine and the paper on the base is again from My Mind's Eye.  The Die cuts are from Kaisercraft's On This Day Collection.  Cut out the tag from cardstock and covered it with paper from My Mind's Eye.
The inside right - The paper is again from My Mind's Eye and the small doily and the flower die cut are from Kaisercraft.
The stickers below are from Kaisercraft's These Days Collection.
The flowers are mainly from Kaisercraft.  I lightly gessoed them and also added some Stickles for a bit of glitter and placed them on top of a bit of gauze.  The leaves were cut with the Silhouette.  I also placed some small gems around the doily.  The die cuts in the centre are from Kaisercraft.

You can see the glitter a little better here.
I really like the style of this card.  I like the idea of the tag for the sentiment and there's a lot of space for decorating.

Thank you so much for visiting and I do hope you enjoy your weekend.
Take care and God Bless.

Tag No. 5

Hello sweet friends and welcome to my blog.
I'm back to share with you Tag No. 5.   I was actually intending to make 8 of these tags for my little journal but I might have to restrict myself  to 6 because otherwise I feel the journal will be way too bulky.  Then again I might do two journals, who knows?
The doily was cut from kraft card with my Silhouette Portrait, I then inked it with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and edged it with Walnut Stain.  I also stamped it lightly with a script stamp from Kaisercraft.
The paper doll and her dress were cut out with my Silhouette (Looove that machine)   It was a bit fidly because I had to resize the doll and then had to resize the dress as well to fit her, but it worked thank goodness.  The shading on the pleats and petticoat was done with a felt pen.  I also put some stickles on the waist band and the shoes for a bit of bling.
The quote is, again, from the net and I thought how true it is.  We all pass on our own little bit of creativity through our blogs and, hopefully, someone will get some inspiration or benefit from it.
The large flower is one I made myself although it wasn't quite the right shade, so I sprayed it lightly with Sugar Plum Fairy Glimmer Mist.  The small roses are Kaisercraft and the leaves were also cut with my Silhouette.  One reason I love this machine is because you can easily change the size of  the item you're cutting which you can't do with die cuts or punches.
The clock was printed on my computer, glued onto a couple of pieces of cardstock and then fussy cut.  I edged it with copper Versa Color and then ran a thin line of Glossy Accents around the edge.
The light beige cotton lace is from my stash and the darker one is from Bo Bunny.
So, tag number 5 is done.  If I'm only doing 6 then I only have one more to make, but I'm really enjoying the process of making these tags so I may not be able to stop at that but, we'll see.

Once again, thank you so much for visiting and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
I also wish to thank again all the lovely people who have left such kind comments for me, I really appreciate your support.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I love you all.
Take care and God Bless.

A Bit of Grunge .... and a Tag Revisited

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.
First up I've got a card to show you.
The inspiration for this card came from a layout by Heather Jacob.  HERE is the link to her blog.  You'll have to go back as far as March to find the actual layout.   I loved the colors and the arrangement  of the elements on this page and felt it would be very adaptable for a male card.
I'm pretty sure that the papers are all from Kaisercraft but I can't remember which collection.
I creased the papers up a bit  and lightly painted with gesso for extra interest, then cut a Prima Nature Garden tag in half and placed a piece underneath each side so that just the edges are showing.  The clock below was a print out from my computer.
This clock was cut with my Silhouette Portrait.  I did some doodling and lots of distressing.
The small brad is from Kaisercraft.
The chipboard penny farthing is from Scrapmatts.  I coloured it with black chalk ink and then brushed over it with silver Versa Color.  The tag underneath the bike was traced from a G45 Curiosity shoppe tag.  Using kraft card, I drew around the edges and then it was simply fussy cut and edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and covered with a piece of designer paper.
Made a little tag for the greeting which is tucked underneath.

Voila!!
I enjoyed making this card, and I really appreciate the inspiration and the ideas that I get from visiting other people's blogs.  Not just from Heather but from everyone out there.  Love it!!!

Now for my second item.
If you've been here before you'll know that I've been making some tags for a journal I'm putting together.  This idea came from AstridMaclean.  HERE is the link to her blog, you'll find lots of wonderful inspiration there as well.
I've made four tags so far but changed my mind size wise after making the first one so decided to re-do that one to match it with the others.
Here is the original tag ...
... and here is the new.

As you can see, they are basically the same with just a few small changes.  I am supposed to be taking a break from making these tags because I have lots of cards I need to make but, I enjoy it so much that I'm still sneaking in a bit of time on them now and then.  (I have the tag making bug)  LOL

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
Take care and God Bless.

Aaaaah!!! Christmas

Hello everyone.  I LOVE CHRISTMAS but it can be really stressy in the lead up, especially when you're running way behind in making your Christmas Cards.  I've just spent the last three days madly trying to make my cards for this year.
I actually started making my cards in early November  ( thought I was really good this year to start so early - HA!! )   The first one I made was an advent calendar card.

Made the Poinsettia out of cardstock.  Spent quite a few evenings in front of the telly cutting out lots of  petals, spraying them and scrunching them up a little bit and then glueing them together.  Enough for all my cards. The leaves were cut using a Tim Holtz die.
I really like this card.  I downloaded the template from Norma at 'From my Craft room'. You can find it HERE
This was going to be my card for everyone this year.
Silly me.  Didn't happen.
It's not a difficult card to make but it does take a bit of time to do especially with all those little number cards you have to print and punch and cut out. Then my lovely man and I got really busy with lots of different stuff and I found myself running out of time.
So I decided to make shaped side step cards. They don't take long do they?  Got all the bases and the mats cut out with the help of my daughter-in-laws Silhouette Cameo and put them together and then got the inside done. But when I decorated the outside on one of them, I did not like it at all.  I don't know what went wrong but it wouldn't sit right and it just looked ... blah!  Soooo!!!  I had to start all over again, hence the mad rush in the last few days.
I  ended up making easel cards.  Hopefully I'll get them in the post tomorrow and then I can show you.
Whew!!
Like I said, I love Christmas  but sometimes ....
Thanks for visiting.  Take care and God Bless.
