Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. Hope you are all having a wonderful day.
So, I have finally created another Christmas card and thought I'd share it with you. It's still early I know, but there's only four months to go till Christmas so I need to get cracking.
I KNOW!!! Freaked me out too!! How did it get so close so soon?? The last one was only a couple of months ago wasn't it???? Seems like it anyway .. LOL!!
The papers used are from Kaisercraft's 'Heirloom' 6 x 6 Paper pack along with a small scrap piece from their 'Holy Night' papers.
Only a couple of layers on this one but I did add a little lace in between.
The white bloom is 'Azalea' available from Megs Garden. Love this flower .. it is reasonable large but not too bulky, so it's ideal for cards and also very easy to alter, colourwise, if necessary.
The bauble sprig is cut from a cheap Christmas decoration.
When the card was finished, I added a few paint splatters and, while the paint was still wet, I sprinkled some glitter over the top. You can't really see it on these piccies but the glitter has a touch of gold in it .. looks really pretty.
The chippies are from Scrapmatts . Picked them up at a Craft Show that was on in Adelaide just recently along with some other lovely little bargains. I've used them raw .. just added a bit of white paint and glitter at the top of the bauble.
I really love this pine bough die from Impression Obsession. Think I have used it on just about all of my Christmas cards for this year.
This little flower is the 'Cherry Blossom' also available at Megs Garden. It was white originally and I just sprayed it with some Dylusion Ink.
... And another Christmas card done and dusted. Hoping to make a few more this month as I am way behind on my original plan of doing two each month. Still, I have more cards now than I had at this time last year and that is really good.
Last Saturday I had a girl's day out with Astrid MacClean, Heather Jacob, Adriana Bolzon and Helen Wallace. Astrid is in Australia visiting her family in Melbourne and was able to come to Adelaide for a couple of days. It was so wonderful to meet her in person and we all had a fantastic day together. Lots of fun and laughter was had by all. Thought I would share a couple of piccies.
We swapped some hand made gifts as well and I will share those with you over the next few weeks.
Thank you my gorgeous friends for a truly wonderful day.
Once again, thank you so much for dropping by and I hope you have a fantastic week.
Till next time, take care and God Bless.

Gorgeous card Margaret! I love that Impression Obsession die on your card, I have that and never use it but you make it look worth pulling out of the binder!! Beautiful papers, love the wood chippies! Just stunning, and good for you getting a head start on your Christmas stash. I just adore Astrid. I'm not familiar with the other ladies, but what a treat to get to meet up with bloggy friends. sending hugs :)
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing those photos of you scrappy girls. Looked way fun! And your card is my favest ever [to date!!!]. Those baubles..... huh! Stuff comes in handy if you collect it! LOVE the flower, the pine leaf works a treat. You do that 'trad' colour combo to perfection. And yep. Just saw on FB - might have been your page - 20 weeks til Christmas. That is completely and utterly NOT acceptable!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous Christmas card in the traditional colours. Always a winner in my book. 20 weeks you say! Yikes! I plan to have a blitz one day soon and make about 20 in one sitting like a friend of mine has just done. It's truly wonderful how our common addiction allows us to make cyber friends and then meet IRL. What a special day. Your card has pride of place on my cedar chest, in the hope it will inspire me to do great things! :D
ReplyDeleteOh Marge this card is gorgeous~ So beautifully layered and detailed! And your choices of textural elements, w/the chipboard, lace chz cloth & 'pic' is just lovely and compliments so well together. Thank you for sharing! and thanks for the tip about glitter in the paint splashes! Very smart ; )
ReplyDeletePS Sounds like a wonderful wonderful time with these ULTRA talented ladies! : ) Blessings, Karen O
Well now I am totally freaked out... all my fave peeps in one place and where the hell was I... on the other side of the world. One day I will meet you all. Looks like you had such a good time.
ReplyDeleteI love your card too and I am so under the whip with Chrissy cards. Waaaaaay behind the 8 ball now. :D
