Hello crafty visitors. Welcome to my blog.
Back again I am with another 'man' card. Seems that's all I'm making at the mo (not really though) but when I'm on a roll, I've just got to keep going. Do need lots of these during the year so it's all good.
This one was made with a mix of Maja and Kaisercraft papers.
I'm really liking the look of those tied down tags and so I've made a couple like that now. Actually have a few more in the pipeline as well so you just may get sick of seeing these but, as I said earlier, when I'm on a roll ....
.. and flairs!! Another fave at the mo. Lizzy Hill got me started on these so, blame her, I do. LOL!! I actually found quite a lot of these in my stash. I reckon I've had them for years and had totally forgotten about them. Coming in handy now though.
Metal cogs (always a fave of mine for 'man' cards) with a few prills (love those) and some washi tape (yep! Another fave at the mo.).
Attached a few brads .. and more prills.
Another flair .. a tiny one this time .. and, you guessed it, more prills.
The usual on the inside ..
.. and the finished card!!
I find with these double fold cards that you really need a closure if you want them to lay flat. On the feminine ones I usually just wrap a ribbon around it. It looks pretty and it certainly does the job. For a 'man' card though, I find magnets are the way to go and I have found the perfect ones to use. They are from Basic Grey and they are fabulous. Slim and super strong they are perfect for cards and for mini albums too. I have found that even with 3 or 4 layers of dp in between they still stick beautifully. So, if you're looking for some decent magnets, get the Basic Grey ones .. I love them!!
Well, that's it from me for now. Thank you so much for dropping by and taking a look at my creations. I hope I have inspired you in some small way.
Have a fabulous week!!
Take care and God Bless.

HAHAAA! So glad I've made you a flair freak;) Welcome to the club! I'm with you on those tied down tags. They look fantastic. Bring 'em on! And I really, really like the scattered prills. I don't 'know' them....but the little bursts of colours in here. NICE touch!! I think Basic Grey have closed up shop? Finished up? So I'd be grabbing all the magnets you can find while you can....luck with that!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you combine your papers it is one of the hardest things for me... especially from different sets and it is one of the things that I am working on this year. New me :D The flair looks lovely - another thing I need to do this year is to use them I have loads but I never seem to have the right one. I do so love your cards Margy.
ReplyDeleteAnother outstanding bloke's card Margy - I'm always thrilled to see them, as I have so many blokes to make for. This style is wonderful with the tie downs, the metal cogs and the prills for pops of colour. I'm a fan of flairs too and Hmmmm? it was possibly Lizzy Hill that got me started on those too. Note to self - decorate the insides too - the perfect finishing touch. TFS
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely amazing yet again. And I love your idea to use magnets - how clever!
ReplyDeleteWow Margaret, this is fantastic!! I just love the papers you have used for this, the woodgrain patterns and the different script patterns work so well together! The tag with the eyelet and the twine stretched across is such a wonderful design element, I will have to steal...oops I mean borrow (lol) that one from you! That microscope epoxy piece is so wonderful, what a stunning focal piece! Love the addition on the microbeads and the bronze brads and gears, fantastic accents for a masculine card! You do masculine like nobody else I've ever seen, and I am so inspired every single time!! sending hugs :)
