Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - #181 Love, Love, Love!!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog, hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Lin is hosting the new Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and it is all about Love, Love, Love.
As Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away now is the time to make something special for the one you love, or for someone in love or just something made with love!!
As usual, anything you enter is fine .. a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, home decor .. as long as it has a love theme.

I decided to make a card (Ha!! Surprise, surprise!!  LOL!!) .. a double fold card actually.

We don't really 'do' Valentine's Day in our family so this card was made for a dearly loved friend.
The papers are from Maja Design and were gifted to me by my sweet friend Heather Jacob.

Added a chippie frame  from Imaginarium Chipboard and placed a flair inside it.  The flair was a gift from another sweet friend, Lizzy Hill.

This gorgeous big bloom (another of my gifts from Heather) was white .. I simply sprayed it with some watered down Liquitex Ink to colour it.

The flair below was handmade.  Printed the greeting from my computer, cut it out and then just covered it with a gel sticker .. a brilliant little tip from Lizzy Hill.

A strip of lace for some extra interest ..

.. and some sisal added under the flower for a bit of texture.

The leaves are a die-cut from Cheery-Lyn Designs (Flourish #14).  Have seen these so often on other people's work and always wanted some of my own but couldn't find them anywhere.  Finally was able to lay my hands on them and now I'll probably use them all the time .. love 'em!!!

Usually when I make these double fold cards, I use a ribbon for the closure and then cover the back of the card to cover the ribbon.  This time I've used some magnets so haven't needed the ribbon but I still covered the back  because then, to me, it looks finished!!

There you go!!  All done!!

Hope you like my card and that I have inspired you to join the challenge.

Pretty in Blue!

Hello everybody and welcome to my blog.  So nice of you to drop by.

I have another card to share with you today.
This was created with papers from Megs Garden's Spring Pastels collection.  I actually have the digital version of this collection and so I can print off just the right papers for whatever it is I'm working on.

Made this embellie with a silicon mold and some Modge Podge melts.  So easy to make and looks good I reckon!

Lots of small flowers from my stash in the cluster ..

.. added some sisal and die cut leaves,

.. and popped some prills in random places.

The small berry cluster was white originally .. I simply sprayed it with some blue Liqitex ink.

The inside, with space for a personal message ..

and I also covered the back  to hide the ribbon which wraps around the card.

Voila!!

I really love these pretty papers and am quite happy with the way this card turned out.

Thank you so much for your visit and enjoy the rest of your day.

Take care and God Bless

Happy New Home - Crafty Cardmakers

Hello there my lovelies and welcome to my blog.  Hope your day has been great so far.

Guess what!!!!  I'm on the Design Team for Crafty Cardmakers!!!  How good is that!!!
I am stoked!!

Thank you so much Lin for adding me to the Team.  I feel so honoured to be a part of this group .. a wonderful beginning to the new year for me and I am so looking forward to working alongside all the talented Members in this group.

So, onto the first Challenge which is .. New Beginnings!
This Challenge is hosted by Jac and we want to see your creations related to New Beginnings.  This could be the arrival of a new baby, a new relationship, an engagement or a marriage.  Anything you wish to create is fine .. a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, home decor .. as long as it meets the New Beginnings theme.

I think a wonderful new beginning is moving into a new home and, as some friends of mine are doing just that soon, I made a card for them.

Lots of paper layers and all from Maja Design.
Made the clock flairs myself using a free printable  image from the net.  Simple cut them out, layered them on a scrap piece of chipboard and covered them with Glossy Accents.

This gorgeous bloom was gifted to me from my dear friend Heather Jacob.  Layered it over a chippie piece from 2Crafty Chipboard and added some die cut leaves and a twine bow.

The window chippie is from Scrapmatts and I simply left it raw and tucked it in between the layers.

The greeting was printed from my computer.

The inside with more Maja papers and a quote printed from the net ..

So, this is my contribution to the New Beginnings Challenge
If you would like to play along the link is below.  We would love to see how you interpret this Challenge!!

The first Man card for 2017!

Hello sweet visitors and welcome to my blog.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day and the weather is being kind to you.  Have heard a lot about the snow overseas but here we are experiencing a heat wave.  Had a couple of days where the temp was in the low 40c and the last few days have been in the high 30c.  Just heard on the news we have another storm coming our way.  There was lots of flooding and damage done throughout the State from the previous storm (which was only a couple of weeks ago).  Just hope and pray everyone gets through this one alright.

On to happier things!!
As you can see by the post title, I'm sharing my first 'man' card for 2017 today.  Thought I would get started early this year as I have quite a few of these to make during the year.

The papers are from Maja.

Made a few of my own flair using book paper, 2 clocks, 1 epoxy sticker and glossy accents.

Made a couple of tags and crumpled up a little ticket.  The clock flair is very easy to make.  Simply print the image (there are plenty to be found on-line), cut it out, mount it on some chipboard and cover it with an epoxy sticker.

The two flair below were made in a similar way.  Printed the clock image (got the bit of book paper from .. surprise, surprise!!  .. an old book, LOL!!), cut them out, mounted them on scraps of chipboard but, because the epoxy stickers I had left were the wrong size, I covered them both with glossy accents .. easy peasy!!

Voila!!  The first of my man cards for this year, done and dusted!!

Thank you so much for dropping by and taking a peek.
Your visits are very much appreciated!

Take care, stay safe and God Bless.

A Close Friend's Birthday

Hello dear friends and welcome to my blog.  Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.  Let's hope this year doesn't fly past as quickly as last year  did .. I'm sure I blinked and it was gone!!  LOL!!  I also hope that this will be a better year all round than 2016.  So many nasty things happened in the world last year .. just hope this year is peaceful!

So, I have another card to share today.

I actually made this one quite a while ago, last year as a matter of fact .. LOL!!   Really not sure where the papers are from but I think the script paper could be from Pion and the other could be Maja, but I'm really not certain.

The flourish diecut is a Dynamics Die.  I used the blanks on a couple of my cards last year (here and here) and thought it was time to use the actual flourish itself!

The leaves and flowers are available at Megs Garden and the seam binding is from Tim Holtz.

Bought a packet of little Paper Rope Ties a while back.  They actually have wire inside them so I  twisted them losely around a skewer and added them to the cluster.

A fairly simple card to make but still shabby chic enough to suit me!!

Thank you so much for stopping by to  take a look and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
If you happen to live in Adelaide .. try to stay cool!!  Blooming hot here at the moment!!

Take care, stay safe and God Bless.
