Two Tags?? Cards!!

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

I'd like to share some more cards with you today.
I actually started off by making a couple of little tags.  Just felt like doing something easy and simple.  Once they were made though, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them so decided to turn them into some cards.  Not an original idea I know, but I haven't done it before so, a first for me.

So, I'll show you the tags first and then  how they look as a card.

Tag No. 1

The papers are from Megs Garden's 'English Rose Garden' Collection and the outside measurements are 3.5" x 5".  As I said, I wanted to make something easy and simple so there is not a lot of background work on this.  Just a few splatters done with gesso.

I absolutely adore these blooms.  The pink one is the 'Carabella Rose' and the white one is a 'Puffy Paper Flower' and they are both available from Megs Garden.    The small green stamen cluster is from my stash.

Another piece I absolutely love is this 'Element Set 1' chippy from 2Crafty Chipboard.  It has simply been heat embossed.  I did say 'easy and simple' at the start of this post didn't I?  Wasn't kidding!!  LOL!!

Added some crumpled Seam Binding to the top of the Tag.  You can see some of my machine stitching didn't exactly go very well.  Had some trouble with the corners.  Ah well, it adds character I reckon!!  LOL!!

Another look  at those gorgeous flowers ...

.. and, as you can see, I added some seed beads as well.  I also slathered some gesso around the finished piece to create some highlights.

Tag No. 2

Once again the papers are from Megs Garden's 'English Rose Garden' Collection and this tag measures 3.25" x 4.5".   The sewing was done by hand this time .. no problem going around corners!

So, basically, this Tag was made in the same way as the first but, of course, I have used different colours and embellies.

The larger blooms in my cluster are all 'Puffy Paper Flowers' from Megs Garden.  They come in white and I have simply sprayed them in different colours.  The stamen cluster and the small white flower are from my stash.

The 'Mini Flourish Piece' is from 2Crafty Chipboard of course and it was simply swiped with a Versa Color Stamp Pad to give it that touch of green.

I again added some seed beads and swipes of gesso for highlights ...

... and ...

.. an extra closie, 'cos' this is my fave.  Love the spring colours!!

So, now to show you how they look as a card!!

No. 1

No. 2

Done!!  Really simple projects which I really enjoyed making and .. I'm quite pleased with the result!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and, maybe leaving me some love.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
Take care and God Bless

  2. I think tags make great cards! And your tags are gorgeous. Plenty complicated enough for me! Love the chippy and those microbeads in blue on the 2nd card 'pop' so beautifully....& stitching is MEANT to be crooked, isn't it? I'm CERTAIN that's what I was told, LOL!!!!

  7. Two gorgeous projects Margie. They looked fab as tags and even better converted to cards. Love the way you use beads scattered around and like you, the blue/green one is my fave, but only because I'm a blue fanatic. Thanks for the inspiration :D
