Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #230

Hello my dear visitors and welcome.
So pleased you decided to stop by my blog today.

The new Challenge is live at Crafty Cardmakers!  Marlene is our Host and the Theme is 'That Special Someone'.

As always, you may enter whatever you like.  A card, scrapbook layout, journal page, home decor, whatever takes your fancy as long as it fits the Theme.

For my DT contribution I have created a card for a very special lady who is celebrating a very special birthday.  She is one of my closest friend's Mum and she is turning 90 this year.  She is truly an amazing woman.  90 years old and still going strong.
The papers are by Kaisercraft from their 'Wandering Ivy' 6.5" x6.5" paper pad.
The piece of chipboard is by Little Birdie and the diecut is the Floral Sprig by Memory Box.
The fabric flower was purchased from Megs Garden and the small paper flowers are by Magnolia Ink.
I've also added some pieces of my fave lace and some prills and micro beads in and around the cluster.
A Little seam binding bow finishes this card off nicely, I think.

Just Playing - Making Cards #2

Hello dear friends.
So happy you decided to drop by.

Back to share another of the cards I made while hiding at home from the heat we have been experiencing lately.  Have to say, the last couple of weeks the weather has been much more bearable.  Still warm but we haven't needed the aircon.  I believe that is about to change though.  Apparently we're in for another week of temps in the 30's (centigrade)  Not sure exactly how hot but, I guess, we're about to find out.

Ok.  So, here is the second of the feminine cards I created in this 'Just Playing' series.
The papers are from the same Collection as the card I shared in the first of these posts 'Making Cards #1' here.  It's the Floral Romance 12 x 12 paper pad from Kaisercraft.
Added a Chloe Stem (a Memory Box die) as well as a few leaves (a Cheery Lynne die)
and tucked more of my fave lace under the cluster.
More diecuts trailing down to the bottom (these are from Altenew).
The flower is by Little Birdie.  I edged it with Ground Espresso Distress Ink and sprinkled it randomly with some glitter.  Can't really see that too well but it does have a lovely shimmer in real life.
And that was another card done and dusted!!
Gathering all the bits and pieces before hand and then only limiting myself to those bits and pieces certainly worked a treat!!

Thank you for stopping by and for the lovely comments you leave me to read.   Love getting your feedback.

Have a wonderful day dear friends and have fun with your crafting!
Take care and God Bless.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #229

Hi everyone and welcome to my little blog.  Hope you are having a fabulous day.

It's time for a new Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers.    Marlene is our lovely host and the Theme is 'Make It Green".

As always, you don't have to make a card.  You can create whatever you like as long as your piece is predominantly green.

For my DT contribution, I have created a masculine card.
This was created in bit of a hurry.  Had a lot of stuff on my mind in the last few days and totally forgot that this Challenge was due.  Didn't think I could do it but, luckily, I managed.
Grabbed some Kaisercraft papers (from their Base Coat Collection), a few diecuts and some paper circles I had punched out a few days before and this is the result.
The sentiment was generated on my computer and, although it looks a bit fuzzy here, it does look fine IRL.
The chippie is from 2 Crafty Chipboard and I heat embossed it with  metallic green and black powders.

So glad I got it Done!!

Check out the full details of the Challenge and take a peek at the awesome creations by my Teamies.  I'm sure you will be inspired!!

Just playing - Making Cards #1

Hello dear visitors and welcome!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

It's been really hot in Adelaide over the last week or so and we've spent most of our time at home in the airconditioning.  Consequently, I had a bit of a play in the craft room and created a ton of cards.  Well, maybe not a ton but quite a few just the same.
I really amazed myself.  It usually takes me ages to make my cards because I procrastinate so much over papers and what embellies to use but, these came together quite easily.   I made 8 altogether.  4 Feminine cards and 4 Masculine cards and I am thrilled with that!!
Anyway,  I thought I would share one of those cards with you today.

I actually started off by gathering a heap of different papers and embellies.  Did a bit of die cutting as well and then just used those gathered bits and pieces to create my cards.  This idea came from Val Thorpe who has been posting about a faux scrapbooking kit that she has been using and I thought I would try something similar.  I was amazed at how well it worked!  Limiting the pieces I could use on my cards made it so much easier .. no procrastinating!!  LOL!!   It does mean that the cards I made are all very similar in colour and design but I don't see that as a problem.
Most of the cards I made are 3.5" x 6.5.   I'm really liking my cards tall at the moment.  These papers are from the Floral Romance 12 x 12 paper pad by Kaisercraft.  Loving the colours in this Collection.
The dies I've used are the Chloe Stem by Memory Box and the String of Pearls by Altenew.  I also tucked a piece of my favourite lace between the layers.

I hadn't gathered the flowers along with the other bits but flowers are always the easiest thing for me choose anyway.
I must have coloured that larger bloom for another project and then not used it but it came in quite handy for this card.  All of the flowers are by Little Birdie.
So, this is the first of many.  I thought about showing them all at once, or even two by two, but decided against that as the post would be way too long.  Besides, posting them one by one means I can pop them up whenever I have nothing else ready to show!!   Sweet!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and, perhaps, leaving me a little comment to read.  Love to know what you think!

Have yourselves a wonderful day!
Take care and God Bless.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #228

Hello dear friends and welcome to my blog.  So pleased you stopped by today.
A very warm welcome to my new followers too.  So happy you decided to join me on my creative journey.

It's time again for a new Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers.  Kim is our lovely Host and the Theme for this Challenge is one of my faves!  It is all about 'Flowers'.

As always, anything you wish to create is fine.  It doesn't have to be a card, but it must follow the theme.
The papers I've used for this card are from Kaisercraft's Pen and Ink 6.5" x 6.5" pad.
Created a little banner to run down the side and also tore the edges of some of the paper layers.

Tucked in a few bits of lace and added some prills and micro beads.

A bit of gauze and some die cut leaves were arranged behind the Little Birdie flowers and I added a twine bow ..
.. as well as a little dry brushing with gesso.
I hope this has given you a bit of inspiration to join in with the Challenge.  To find lots more inspo and ideas, pop on over to the Crafty blog and take a look at the wonderful creations by my Teamies.

Amigurumi - Bunny in the Hood

Hi everybody.  Thank you for stopping by today.

Thought I would share another of my Amigurumis with you today.  I found this pattern on a website called Once Upon a Cheerio.  It's a blog by a lady named Juli who lives in Vancouver, Canada.  If you'd like to take a look HERE is the link.  Thank you so much Juli for freely sharing this pattern, I love it!!  Have already made three of them but this is the only one I still have.  The other two went to friends who also fell in love with him.

Isn't he adorable!!  All dressed up to go and see his girlfriend.  He's even bringing her a little bunch of flowers.  Just my kind of guy!!
I made him in 5ply yarn with a 2.5mm crochet hook and he stands about 5.5" tall, including his ears.  In this version, I made his ears just a little bigger and more rounded than in the original pattern.  I also made the hoodie just a little bigger.
He can wear the hoodie down as well, which I really love.
He does have a little black nose in the original pattern but I liked him just as is.

Of course his hoodie needed a couple of slits so he could poke his ears through ..
.. and, it was a bit cold outside so he had to put his hoodie up again!  LOL!!
Well, I hope you like my little Bunny in the Hood.  I so enjoy making these little toys although, at the moment, not sure where they are going to go.  As I said, some of my friends have adopted a few but I would like to donate the others to the Children's Hospital or perhaps St. John's Ambulance.  Haven't made enough of them yet to give away but hopefully, someone will want them.  I will still keep making them though.  Having so much fun with them and there are so many patterns out there yet to try!!  Just not enough time in the day!

Thank you so much for your visit and have a fabulous day!!
Take care and God Bless.
