My Final Post for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello everyone and welcome to my bloggy place.  Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Feeling a bit sad right now.  As the Title suggests this is my last post for 2Crafty as my term on the Resident Guest Design Team has ended.  It has been a wonderful experience for me.  Being on this Team with all these wonderfully talented ladies was a dream come true.   I have so enjoyed working with these amazing chippies.  Thank you so much Vanessa for having me on this incredible Team and also to you and Di for all the support you have provided along the way.  It has been a fantastic experience!!

So, onto my projects.  This time I have created an altered Gift Bag, a Tag and a card.

'The Altered Gift Bag'

2Crafty Chipboard used

Dreamcatchers
6 x 6 Mixed Sentiments - card words
Bubble Clumps

I used some different colours of acrylic paint to colour the background paper and also added some texture with a stencil and texture paste and did a little stamping as well.  The Bubble Clumps were simply painted white with acrylic paint and then layered over a piece of gauze underneath my flower cluster.

I love these Dreamcatchers!!   I was a bit afraid at first that the center would be very delicate and difficult to work with but it is a lot stronger than it looks.  I painted it with gesso first and then with some blue acrylic paint.  I also used the same paint to add the accents on the feathers and swiped the edges with a Versa Color Ink Pad.

These Mixed Sentiment Words are so handy for card makers.  They are the perfect size for smaller projects and you get ten different greetings in the one pack.

'The Tag'

2Crafty Chipboard used

Chicken Barb Wire Small
ATC Words
Ava's Butterflies
Foliage Set 2

Once again I added some stamping and texture to the background papers and also added some splatters.   All the chippies were painted with gesso first and then I used a paint dabber in 'Peeled Paint' to colour the ATC Word.

Isn't this Ava's Butterfly unusual?  So delicate and pretty.  I simply coloured it with a stamp pad and then sprinkled it with glitter.  It looks really sparkly and pretty in real life but, unfortunately, the photo doesn't quite pick that up.

The 'Peeled Paint' dabber was used on the Foliage Set 2 as well but I didn't colour it solidly.  I like that slightly mottled look, it's just a little more interesting I think.  You can just see that I added a little sparkle here as well.

I had actually painted the other side of the Chicken Barb Wire but didn't like the colour so I flipped it and found some of the gesso and paint had leeched around to the other side.  Thought I would have to cut another piece at first but then decided to swipe it with a Charcoal stamp pad and liked how it looked so used it anyway.

'The Card'

2Crafty Chipboard used

Element Set 3
Decorative Rod Set 1

How gorgeous is this Decorative Rod Set 1?  When I saw this on the product list I simply had to get it.  I normally wouldn't have chosen a piece of this length because my makes are on a smaller scale than Scrapbooking but I simply could not resist this one and, I thought I could cut it up if necessary.  Well, what a shame that would have been.  I am so pleased I was able to use it all in one piece.  I simply coloured it with a Versa Color Stamp Pad and it fitted beautifully onto my card.

Well, talking about cutting up some of these stunning chippies!!  I needed something to decorate this corner as it was a bit bare but I had no corner pieces left and nothing else that really suited the design.  While checking through my stash of 2Crafty Chipboard I found the Element Set 3 and cut one of the pieces in half and 'voila' .. perfect .. and I still have the other half left for another project.  Love that you can do that with these fabulous chippies.  They are so easy to adapt to your project no matter the size.

A fairly simple card made special by the addition of some stunning chippies!!

So, that is it, my final post done and dusted.  Thank you so much everyone for looking at my work and for the lovely comments you have left for me.  I have felt honoured and so privileged to have had the opportunity to work with these wonderful chippies and to be on a Team with such amazingly talented ladies.  Thank you again to Vanessa and Di for this fantastic opportunity.

Usually I would split my 2Crafty post and share it over a few days, one for each project but, as this is the end of the month and the new Team is about to start I thought I would share this one all at the same time.  Hope you have enjoyed it and found some inspiration here!

Thank you for visiting.  Take care, stay safe and God Bless.

Two Tags?? Cards!!

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

I'd like to share some more cards with you today.
I actually started off by making a couple of little tags.  Just felt like doing something easy and simple.  Once they were made though, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them so decided to turn them into some cards.  Not an original idea I know, but I haven't done it before so, a first for me.

So, I'll show you the tags first and then  how they look as a card.

Tag No. 1

The papers are from Megs Garden's 'English Rose Garden' Collection and the outside measurements are 3.5" x 5".  As I said, I wanted to make something easy and simple so there is not a lot of background work on this.  Just a few splatters done with gesso.

I absolutely adore these blooms.  The pink one is the 'Carabella Rose' and the white one is a 'Puffy Paper Flower' and they are both available from Megs Garden.    The small green stamen cluster is from my stash.

Another piece I absolutely love is this 'Element Set 1' chippy from 2Crafty Chipboard.  It has simply been heat embossed.  I did say 'easy and simple' at the start of this post didn't I?  Wasn't kidding!!  LOL!!

Added some crumpled Seam Binding to the top of the Tag.  You can see some of my machine stitching didn't exactly go very well.  Had some trouble with the corners.  Ah well, it adds character I reckon!!  LOL!!

Another look  at those gorgeous flowers ...

.. and, as you can see, I added some seed beads as well.  I also slathered some gesso around the finished piece to create some highlights.

Tag No. 2

Once again the papers are from Megs Garden's 'English Rose Garden' Collection and this tag measures 3.25" x 4.5".   The sewing was done by hand this time .. no problem going around corners!

So, basically, this Tag was made in the same way as the first but, of course, I have used different colours and embellies.

The larger blooms in my cluster are all 'Puffy Paper Flowers' from Megs Garden.  They come in white and I have simply sprayed them in different colours.  The stamen cluster and the small white flower are from my stash.

The 'Mini Flourish Piece' is from 2Crafty Chipboard of course and it was simply swiped with a Versa Color Stamp Pad to give it that touch of green.

I again added some seed beads and swipes of gesso for highlights ...

... and ...

.. an extra closie, 'cos' this is my fave.  Love the spring colours!!

So, now to show you how they look as a card!!

No. 1

No. 2

Done!!  Really simple projects which I really enjoyed making and .. I'm quite pleased with the result!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit and, maybe leaving me some love.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
Take care and God Bless

Feeling Sketchy #122

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  A very special welcome to my new followers .. so pleased and honoured that you decided to join me.

After being out of action for a few days due to a sore back (no more housework for me .. LOL!!! ..  I wish ..) yesterday I felt I needed some crafty time  and so I decided to join the Feeling Sketchy Challenge which finishes today.  I would have had this post up this morning but my monitor decided it didn't want to play and had to be re-calibrated so I could get my photos ready.  Hubby fixed it for me and then we had to go out so I thought I had missed the deadline.  Just checked it and I have an hour left .. talk about leaving it to the last minute!!  LOL!!  So here is the sketch ..

Sketch #122

.. and here is my entry

As you can see, I followed the sketch pretty closely.  The papers are from Kaisercraft's Antique Bazaar Mini Pad and I did a little stamping and also some stenciling with Distress Ink.

The large bloom is from Megs Garden.  It was originally white with blue edges and I had it sprayed for a previous project but hadn't actually used it.  It was perfect for this card.

The circles were made with some string and I also added some seed beads.

The die cut quote is from the same KC collection as the papers.  As is my habit, when it was all assembled, I added some random swipes of gesso.

Decorated the inside with some strips of the same papers and also added another quote from this collection.

And there you have it.  My entry for the Feeling Sketchy Challenge #122.  HERE is the link if you'd like to take a look at the next Challenge.

Thank you so much for visiting and leaving me some love.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Take care and God Bless.

'The English Rose Garden' - Two cards for Megs Garden

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.
Hope you are all having an absolutely wonderful day!!

Megs Garden has added another gorgeous collection to their paper range and I am here to share a couple of cards I have made using these beautiful  papers.  The new collection is called 'The English Rose Garden'.  It is available in 12 x 12 sheets and also a mini paper pack for card making and, I have to say, it is stunning!!  Floral papers with a vintage/shabby chic feel and so gorgeous.  I absolutely  adored creating with them, so much so, that it took almost no time at all to make these two cards.

Tim Holtz

The chipboard pieces used on this card are from 2Crafty.  They are actually some leftovers bits from  pieces used in previous projects.
I have fallen in love with those 'Carabella Roses', they are so velvety soft and pretty.  I had seen them before but hadn't actually had them in my hand until now and they are perfect for vintage and shabby chic creations but also would suit more modern projects as well.   They come in a few different shades and could also be sprayed and altered to suit.  I will certainly be using them  more often .. just adore them!!

I didn't use any sprays on this card but I did do a little stamping with Archival Ink and a Kaisercraft stamp.  I also added some seed beads in random places and doodled around the edge.

I used Matte Medium to glue the beautiful lace ribbon onto the edge of the card.  The small purple rose was originally white, I simply sprayed it to fit in with my colour scheme.
I also did a tiny bit of stenciling with texture paste for added interest.

Love those Tim Holtz Keyholes, they are so handy to fill blank spots and you can paint and alter them as well.  In this case I simply swiped it over with some gesso.

The inside is simply decorated with some border punched strips of the same paper.

When all was assembled and dry, I randomly swiped around the card with gesso.

Lace

Used a lot of the same elements on this card as I did on the first, so they do look similar and yet are still quite different.

That gorgeous Carabella Rose again.  Did I tell you, I love it???  LOL!!  I anchored the Lace ribbon on one side of the page and then gathered it and glued it into the cluster.

A closie showing the cute mini rose buds and also the seed beads added in random places.

The stamp is, again, from Kaisercraft and the stencil used is the Mini Sketch Grid from The Crafter's Workshop.

Same stamping and stenciling at the top of the card.

The inside of the card is, again, decorated with border punched strips of paper.

Once all was assembled I added a few tufts of gauze to the flower cluster and also randomly swiped the card with gesso to create some highlights.

Well, I hope you like my little cards and that I have given you some inspiration.
If you wish to take a look at the items I have used on these cards, simply click on the product photos and that will take you straight to the web site pages.  While you are there, why not take a look around the site, there are heaps of products that I'm sure you simply cannot live without!!  LOL!!
