I've created a gate fold card for a friend's birthday. The inspiration came from a couple of sources. I know one of them was Graphic 45's blog where they showed a gate fold card with a pocket in the middle for a sentiment tag but I can't remember where I saw the other card. I've tried to retrace my steps but have not been able to locate it. It never mattered before, but now that I am blogging, I'm going to have to make notes when I find things on the net that I like so I can give credit where it is due.
I like the gate fold as it is different from the norm and when you add the pocket and a belly band it becomes something even more special.
I've punched the borders on the belly band with a Martha Stewart border punch and added a small chipboard frame from Imaginarium. Papers used are Kaisercraft from their Sweet Nothings Collection.
I did some hand stitching around the edges of the front panels with metallic thread, then added some Kaisercraft flowers and created a small pearl spray to add more interest.
I painted the frame with gesso first and then with soft moss acrylic paint. I sprayed it with glimmer mist and when dry I lightly inked the edges and added a few tiny pearls.
For the inside I simply created the pocket with matching paper, added the side panels and then, for the tag, I added a few pearls and a flower charm.
The flower charm is attached with a small brad.
Thank you for visiting. God Bless.
xx Marg.

Display Frame
Hi Everyone! I'm back again to show you a display frame I made. Again, it's a Kaisercraft kit which I painted and decorated with various elements. Lots of butterflies!
I painted it with burnt umber acrylic paint, glued it together and then added the elements. Fairly simple really.
Again I used mostly Kaisercraft products on this frame and also fussy cut some extra butterflies.
I've added some punched borders, wooden frames and also some tags.
I've inked and/or distressed some of the edges and added skeleton leaves as well.

My Projects
Over the next week or so, I would like to show you some of the projects I've completed. The first is a small chest of drawers I made using Kaisercraft.
I'm quite pleased with the way this turned out. I've used a Kaisercraft beyond the page kit and also a selection of their flowers and papers.
This is a close-up of the top. The pearls are from my stash and the butterfly was cut using a Magnolia Doohickey die. The flowers are Kaisercraft and I've made a few elements myself, such as the little gold spirals (not sure what to call them) and the small jewel spray.
I lined the insides of the drawers with paper as well. It just seems to finish them off nicely.
This is a view of the back.
That's it for now. Thanks for visiting and God Bless.

Mini Album - Take two
Here are the photo mats that I made and inserted into some pockets.
And the last page and back cover.
There's not a lot of embellishments in this album, and the ones I've used are fairly flat. I don't really like it when there's so much stuff in the book that it doesn't close. Don't get me wrong, I love some of the mini albums I've seen on the net with all the lovely bits and pieces inside them. I just think that when you have a book you should be able to close it. My opinion and it's possible I may change my mind about that in the future. Anyhow this is only my first so who knows what I will do next.
That's it for now, thanks for visiting and God bless.

Mini Album
So, I'd like to show you my first completed mini album.

I've used Graphic 45's A Ladies Diary papers and used some of Kathy Orta's techniques from her envelope album tutorial although I've used cardstock instead. I'll insert a link to her tutorial when I work out how to do it. I'll show the rest of the album in a later post.
Thanks for visiting and God Bless.
