My Projects

Over the next week or so, I would like to show you some of the projects I've completed.  The first is a small chest of drawers I made using Kaisercraft.

I'm quite pleased with the way this turned out.  I've used a Kaisercraft beyond the page kit and also a selection of their flowers and papers.

This is a close-up of the top. The pearls are from my stash and the butterfly was cut using a Magnolia Doohickey die.  The flowers are Kaisercraft and I've made a few elements myself, such as the little gold spirals (not sure what to call them) and the small jewel spray.

I lined the insides of the drawers with paper as well.  It just seems to finish them off nicely.

This is a view of the back.
That's it for now.  Thanks for visiting and God Bless.

Mini Album - Take two

As promised, a few more shots of my first completed mini album. I made this album for a close friend who is  battling cancer. Thankfully, she's doing really well and is now recovering from the operation which removed the cancer completely. Her birthday is next month and I wanted to give her this album to use, perhaps, as a brag book of her grandchildren.

Here are the photo mats that I made and inserted into some pockets.

And the last page and back cover.

There's not a lot of embellishments in this album, and the ones I've used are fairly flat. I don't really like it when there's so much stuff in the book that it doesn't close.  Don't get me wrong, I love some of the mini albums I've seen on the net with all the lovely bits and pieces inside them.  I just think that when you have a book you should be able to close it. My opinion and it's possible I may change my mind about that in the future. Anyhow this is only my first so who knows what I will do next.
That's it for now, thanks for visiting and God bless.

Mini Album

So, I'd like to show you my first completed mini album.

I've used Graphic 45's A Ladies Diary papers and used some of Kathy Orta's techniques from her envelope album tutorial although I've used cardstock instead. I'll insert a link to her tutorial when I work out how to do it.  I'll show the rest of the album in a later post.
Thanks for visiting and God Bless.

My first Blog

This is a little scary.  I have never blogged before, I don't even have a facebook page.  So, you ask, why blog?  I guess I just like the idea of sharing my creations with others who might be interested.  I enjoy making my own cards and I wanted a forum to share them with others who may have the same interest.  I am by no means an expert, I just enjoy the process. I've been making cards since 2006, just for family and friends and my style has changed quite a bit over the years.

This card I made for my sister in 2006.

This is the one I made for her in 2011. Needless to say I love flowers and girly things. As I said I make cards for family and friends only and now I am also doing mini albums so I hope to show those as well.  That's it for my first blog, so, God bless and love to all.
