A bit of Manly Grunge

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all keeping well and happy in these difficult times.   It's not easy staying home and isolated.  Not being able to visit family and friends is truly awful but, it must be done if we're to get this horrific virus under control.  A huge heartfelt thanks to all the Health workers who are taking care of the sick regardless of the danger to their own health.
Take my hat off to you guys .. you are heroes!!

I've been doing a bit of crafting (of course .. not much else to do) while stuck at home and have managed to get quite a bit done!   Made cards, created books and now I have lots of thing to share so I will start off with these two masculine cards.

Once again I have used some older Kaisercraft papers.  Trying to use up the tons and tons I have in my stash.
I have used pieces of book paper on both cards as well as a torn piece of corrugated board.  On this first card I have added some gesso to the corrugated board .. adds an extra bit of texture.
I added a tag and my fave die cuts as part of the collage.  All of the gauges are free printables from the net.  I have mounted them on some heavy card and then heat embossed them a couple of times with clear embossing powder.
The second card is pretty much the same as the first.  It is a different shape and size and I did not gesso the corrugated board but, other than that, it is almost identical.
Of course, I added my fave prills to both cards.

I will have more to share over the next few weeks.  Just hope this virus hits its peak and dissipates quickly.

Thank you so much for your visit and any comment you may care to leave for me to read.
Please, do take special care and stay safe and well.

Lots of love to you all.
God Bless.

.. And, Another Man Card

Hi everybody!!  Welcome to my blog and thank you for your visit.  Special thanks to my new followers.  So happy that you decided to join me in my creative journey.

Just a quick post to share another masculine card with you.  This one was actually made late last year for a close friend of ours.
Can't remember where the papers are from but I added a touch of heat embossing for some extra interest.
Layered a few of my fave diecuts (Texture Subway by Kaisercraft and Cogs and Gears by Cheery Lynne) ..
.. as well as a piece of gesso'd corrugated board and a chippy by Scrapmatts.  The gauge is a freeby from the net.  I simply covered it with an epoxy seal.

Of course, I also added a few prills .. 'cos I love them ..
Voila!!

Thank you so much for your visit and for the lovely comments you leave me to read.  I love to see what you think (specially if you like what I've made!  Hee! Hee!).

Have a wonderful day!
Take care and God Bless.

Gauges & Prills - A Guy Card

Hello everyone!!  Thank you for stopping by my blog and
hope you are having a wonderful day.

Just a quick little post to share a card I created for my oldest son's Birthday last year.

The base card is made with black cardstock, and the paper was a piece left on my desk from another project.

The fabulous gauges were a free printable from the net.  I simply mounted them on a piece of chipboard which had been cut to size and then clear embossed them.

A touch of white embossing was added to the background, and then I added the Textured Subway diecut (made with black cardstock) and the circles chippie (by Scrapmatts).  Building up a bit of grunge and texture.

For more texture and interest, I added a sprinkling of black and white prills.  (I do love my prills  for adding that lovely touch of grit and grunge)

The Happy Birthday tag was taken from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.

Done and dusted!!

Thank you so much for your visit and the lovely comments you leave me.  I really appreciate it immensely!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

Take care and God Bless.

Clocks and Gauges for the Men

Hi everyone!
Thought it was about time I started sharing some more of my cards.  Sorry I have been so quiet lately but life has been getting in the way.  You know how it goes.
I have actually been spending time in my craft room, just haven't got around to sharing what I created.  So, this is just a little post to show you a couple of masculine cards I've made!

There is really nothing new here.  Just different versions of cards I've shown previously so I won't go into too much detail.

The gauges are images found on the net.  Unfortunately, when I coated them with Glossy Accents, some of the details were lost.  They actually do look a bit better IRL than on the photo though.
There's some stamping and heat embossing and I have added my usual die cuts along with a bit of washi tape.  This time, instead of the Texture Subway I've used another die by Kaisercraft called Cobblestone.

This card uses a wooden clock shape which I have coloured with Distress Inks and Nuvo Embellishment Mousse.
Again, I have used the Cobblestone die in the background as well as the stamping, heat embossing, washi tape plus an extra strip of paper.

Two very simple and quick cards to make but I think they turned out quite well.

I am going to try and post a bit more often but not sure if that will work out.  I am still on the DT for Crafty Cardmakers so I will still be posting for them each fortnight.   Their current Challenge is Halloween which hubby and I do not participate in but, would love it if you could pop over there and take a look at the Teams' inspiration and, perhaps, join in if you are so inclined.

That's it from me, for now.
Thank you so much for stopping by and do enjoy the rest of your day.
Take care and God Bless

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #235

Hello my dear friends!  Thank you for stopping by today!

The new Challenge is live at Crafty Cardmakers and it is my turn to host!!  The Theme is one of my absolute faves .. Masculine!!  Right up my alley!!

As always, you may create whatever you wish.  A card, scrapbook page, mixed media piece, home decor or anything else that takes your fancy as long as it fits the Theme.

My DT project is the card I created for my oldest son's 50th Birthday last year.
A few layers made with Kaisercraft papers, a couple of computer generated clocks and some added bits of washi tape make up the base.
This card was made late last year so I cannot quite remember where I got the wooden flourish from.  I do remember though that I coloured it with Distress Inks and then clear heat embossed it.
The large cog was also coloured with Distress Ink and then I randomly swiped it with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse.  The number 50 was treated the same as the flourish.

The tags at the side are removable and, of course, I had to add some prills and microbeads.

A couple of fun quotes on the back of the tags.

Still haven't quite accepted that my son is now 50.  Doesn't seem that long ago that we celebrated his 21st!  Time does fly!!

I hope I have inpsired you to join in with our Challenge.  My Teammates have created some fabulous inspiration so please do pop over to the CCM blog and check them out.

Have fun with your crafting!
Take care and God Bless.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge # 234

Hi everyone and welcome.  So happy to have you here for a visit.

The new Challenge is up and running at Crafty Cardmakers and Josephine is our host.
The Theme for this Challenge is Birthdays and, as usual, anything you create is fine as long as it meets this Theme.

The papers are all by Kaisercraft.
On my desk, I found a piece of scrap paper from which I had punched out a few circles, so I added that to my layers.   I really like how it adds a bit of interest to the card.
The clock is a printable from the net.  I popped it onto a piece of chipboard and clear heat embossed it.
The chippie pieces were all heat embossed and the Birthday sentiment is a sticker by Creative
Just for a bit more interest, I added some white slpashes with watered down gesso.

Hopefully, I have inspired you to join in with our Challenge.  Would love it if you could pop over to the CCM blog and take a peek at the wonderful creations by the rest of the Team.  I'm sure you'll find lots of inspiration there.
