Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #218 - Autumn Colours

Hello sweet visitors and welcome to my blog.
A very warm welcome to my new followers too.  So pleased and happy you have decided to join me on my crafty journey and hope I can pass on some inspiration.

It is time for a new Challenge at Crafty CardmakersMaike is our host for this Challenge and the Theme is Autumn Colours.
As always, you may enter anything you wish.  A card, scrap layout, journal page, mixed media, home decor, anything at all in whatever style you like as long as it fits the Theme!

For my DT contribution, I created this card.
The paper used for the background is from Maja.
I created a small Masterboard and then used a Tim Holtz Movers & Shapers die to cut the leaves.  Edged them with Ground Espresso Distress Ink and, as I don't possess a suitable stamp, I simply doodled the veins and also ran the pen along the edges.  Looks a bit messy but I don't mind that.
The clock was fussy cut from a sheet of old Kaisercraft paper and then mounted on a piece of board.  The corrugated card was added underneath for extra interest and texture.

The greeting was computer generated, cut out and then distressed with the same Ink as the leaves.

Hope you will pop over to the CCM blog and take a peek at the creations by the rest of the Team.  Well worth the visit I assure you.  They are a very talented bunch.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

The Light Bulb - A Man Card

Hello sweet visitors and welcome to my blog!  I hope you are having a wonderful day!
I would also like to welcome my new followers!!  Thank you so much for joining me on this crafty journey!  I hope I can give you a little inspiration on the way!!

So,  I'm here to share another of the man cards I created a while back.  This one was for a close friend and, I'm happy to say, he loved it!!

For this card, I used a combination of  old and new Kaisercraft papers along with a few strips from different collections.

I randomly swiped some gesso over the base layer and then used a stencil and texture paste for a bit of interest.
Added the paper strips and then topped it with torn, corrugated cardboard.
The film reel was fussy cut from a sheet of Kaisercraft paper and the chipboard fish net chippie is by Scrapmatts.
The fabulous vintage image is a graphic journal card by Megs Garden.
I need to tell you that I was lucky enough to receive the digital option of two sets of these great Journal Cards as a freebie.   I think they are fabulous and, if you wish to take a look at these wonderful cards for yourself, HERE is the link.  I should also tell you that, if you did decide to purchase some of these for yourself, I will not receive any kind of kickback from your purchase.

For the final piece of interest, I added this awesome lightbulb paper clip!  Isn't it great??  Purchased this at our local Office Works .. they have a number of different shapes to choose from.
And, there you go!!!
Another one bites the dust!!  LOL!!

So, that is another masculine card completed and posted for the year!  Got a few more to go yet but they are for another day!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit.  I also wish to thank those of you who left me such wonderful comments on my last post.  You warm my heart with your lovely words.

Have a wonderful day my friends!!
Take care and God Bless.

Cogs and Clocks - A Man Card

Hello dear visitors and welcome to my blog.  A very special welcome to my new followers.  Thank you so much for joining me on my crafty journey!

It's been a while since I last posted.  I have managed to get into my craft room once in a while but  haven't been able to complete any of the projects I've been working on so I thought I would share another of the man cards I created a while ago.

A fairly simple card made with two layers of some older Kaisercraft papers.
For a bit of texture and interest I wrapped twine around the papers before adhering them to the card base.  The two clocks were freebies from the net.  I printed them out and mounted them on some cardboard.  Both were slightly darkened and distressed by rubbing them with Distress Ink.
A small piece of 2Crafty Chipboard underneath the cogs and wheels which were diecut from cardstock and then coloured with Versacolor stamp pads.
The greeting was generated on my computer, cut out and mounted on a piece of chipboard and edged with a Sharpie pen.
To give the cogs and wheels more substance and dimension I actually cut them out three times and then glued them together before colouring.

Added some prills for extra interest.  Those of you who know my work will know that I love my prills!!  LOL!!

Here is the inside ..
.. and here, the full frontal!!
I made this card for a very close friend of ours.  Unfortunately, he is not well and I wasn't able to give it to him personally but I hope he liked it.

I hope you liked this card.  I have a few more of these to share with you and I hope to be posting them soon, along with another project I am close to finishing.

Thank you so much for your visit and a special thank you to those who left me such lovely comments on my last post.  They are very much appreciated.

Have a wonderful day!!
Take care and God Bless.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #213 - For a Man/Boy

Hello dear visitors and welcome to my blog.
So happy you stopped by and hope you are having a fabulous day!!

It's time again for a new Challenge at Crafty CardmakersMaike is our host and the Theme is For a Man/Boy so, as usual, anything you care to make is fine, as long as it follows the Theme!

This Challenge certainly came at the right time for me.  I was procrastinating (again!! LOL!!) about having to make some man cards for friends and rellies that have Birthdays in the middle of the year and, when I saw this Challenge Theme, it was just the thing to get me motivated.

I am still trying to use up papers from my stash so these are older ones from Kaisercraft.
While hunting for papers I came across the plaster tape and the burlap ribbon so decided to add some on here.
For something different, I added a small pieces of ribbon to the sides and attached them with a couple of brads.

The sentiment is from a cut-apart page I found in one of my paper pads.
The chipboard is by Little Birdie.  I cut it into two pieces so it could be layered and heat embossed it.

Voila!!  Done and dusted!!

Do pop on over to CCM and take a look at the fabulous creations by the rest of the Team.  You will love it and I'm sure you will be inspired to join in.

The World is Yours - A Man Card

Hello dear visitors and welcome to my blog.  Hope you are having a wonderful day.

I'm here to share another man card with you.
A lot of you have said that you really don't enjoy making these but, funnily enough, I actually do.   Maybe it's because I do make a lot of pretty, girly cards and, doing these is a nice change from that.  Besides, I really don't have much choice as I need to make quite a few during the year for the male side of my family and friends.  They would be upset if I only made cards for the female side and, honestly, you can't upset the blokes can you??  Not worth the hastle!!  LOL!!

The papers are all old ones from my stash.  I think these are mostly by Kaisercraft although there could be some different brands as well.  I'm not really sure, as I've been pulling them out of their paper pads looking for ones that match, without taking much notice of brand names.
Added a little piece of an old 2Crafty Chippie just to fill the corner ..
.. and also popped in a few prills here and there.
Found a page of cut aparts and postcards which came in handy to create this small collage ..
.. and the clocks are printables from the net.
Popped a small metal trinket in between the layers just for fun ..
.. and decorated the inside as well.
Inked the edges of the papers with Ground Espresso Distress ink and also distressed them with my scissors.
Fairly simple and easy peasy to put together.   Just the way I like it!!  LOL!!

I have made, and am still making, more cards similar to this one and, hopefully, I will be sharing them over the next few weeks.
Thank you so much for stopping by and thank you for any lovely comments you may care to leave.  They are very much appreciated.

Have a wonderful day!!
Take care and God Bless.

Create your Future - A Man Card

Hello dear visitors and welcome to my blog.  So pleased you dropped by.

Well, here I am with another of my 'man' cards to share.  Still have lots of these to make, although I've slowed down a bit with them.  Got a little too involved in creating some ATCs and everything else just got put on the back burner for a little while.  LOL!!

So, I'm still using up those re-discovered quote panels, and ('cos I'm being a bit lazy this year) I'm still using the same basic design but I'm also still managing to  make them look a little different anyway.  Don't want the guys on my list to think they are all getting the exact same card!  LOL!!
The papers are from Kaisercraft but I cannot remember where the tags came from.  I'm using up a lot of old stash for these cards and the memory is not as good as it used to be.  (Not that it was all that good to start with!!  LOL!!)
The clock is a free printable which I cut out, mounted on some chipboard and then covered with Glossy Accents.
Wanted some extra embellies so, instead of using cogs as I usually do, I simply punched out a few circles of paper and attached them with a brad.  Probably should have inked the edges though.

Again, for something a little different, I attached the twine with staples instead of inserting it through the holes.
No idea where I got that ticket either.  One of those little treasures you sometimes find amongst the rubbish.  Do wish I had some more of these though.
The full frontal ..
.. and another one completed!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and taking a peek at my little makes.  Very much appreciate your visit and any comment you may care to leave for me.

Have a wonderful day!!
Take care, stay safe and God Bless.
