Dream, Believe - A Man Card

Hello my dear visitors and welcome!  So lovely that you stopped by.

I have another card to share today .. another masculine card.  This year, I am trying to get most of these done early so that I have them ready when needed.  Making feminine cards is easy.  I'm always ready to make those, but with male cards, I need to create as many as I can while I'm in the mood (which I am at the moment) otherwise I keep putting them off until it's almost too late.

I am still using the same basic design I used in my last two cards HERE and HERE
If it ain't broke, don't fix it .. right??   Besides, I have all these fab quote panels to use up and they are working really well with these cards. Well, I think so anyway.  LOL!!
The papers are older ones from Kaisercraft.  I have a lot of their papers in my stash so it's really good to get to use some of it.
The clock was a freebie printed on the computer which I covered with Glossy Accents and I also added a strip of torn washi tape.
There's piece of torn corrugated board tucked in at the side.  I actualy lightly painted it with white gesso but didn't like the way it looked so went over it with black.  Looks a bit messy but that's ok.   It's a man card so it's allowed to be a bit messy.  LOL!!
Just couldn't resist adding some prills and microbeads ..
.. and a few metal cogs.
Added a few splatters here and there for a bit more interest.
Do love this quote panel .. it adds a lovely touch of colour!
Some more of the paper on the inside ..
.. and the full frontal!!
I'm quite happy with the way these cards are turning out.  Using the same basic design makes it so much easier in creating them.

Thank you so very much for dropping by today and for any comment you may care to leave.  Always very welcome and very much appreciated!!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

Take care, stay safe and God Bless!

Dream - A Man card

Hello everyone and welcome to my  creative space!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Another quick post to share this little card with you.  A masculine card this time.  Have been mainly making feminine ones lately but, as I have lots of male friends and family, I really need to get a few masculine ones done.  This is the first for this year with lots more to come!

The papers are by Prima and Kaisercraft and I distressed all the edges.
The netting chippie is from Scrapmatts and  I simple left it raw.  Added a strip of washi tape on the side for some extra interest.
The quote panel was mounted on a piece of  mat board and edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  Before attaching the panel, I wrapped the card with a piece of leather thong.
Added some metal hardware for extra embellishment ..

.. and that's it!!  All done!!  For all it's simplicity, this card did take me a while to complete!  Mainly because I had no idea where I was going with it.  Then I found the quote panel and, after I mounted and attached it, I realised the card was finished!

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a peek.  I really appreciate your visit.
Have a good day my friends!!
Take care and God Bless.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #199 - Thankful!

Hello again sweet visitors and welcome to my little creative space.

It's time for another Challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.
The Challenge Theme is 'Thankful' and  Maike is our Host this time.
As usual, anything you care to make is fine .. a card, a layout, a canvas, home decor piece ..  it doesn't matter as long as it has a Thankful Theme.

Me, I'm mostly into cards and, as I needed one of the masculine persuasion, this is what I created for my DT contribution.
The papers are mainly from Kaisercraft with just the ruler strip on the side being from Prima.
The tags are pre-made ones from Franceville but the clock flairs are hand made.
I found some free printable ones on the net ages ago so, I simply printed them, cut them out and covered them with Glossy Accents.   It took a while for the big one to dry but I like that extra shine so it was worth the wait.
The chippie is from 2Crafty Chipboard.  I gave it some colour by swiping it with Versacolor Stamp Pads in Bronze and Lapislazuli.
The greeting was also simply printed out and mounted on a Spellbinders die cut which I found floating around my workbench.

 Et Voila!!
Sincerely hoping I have inspired you to join in with the Challenge.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge # 194 - Under the Sea or At the Beach!

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to my blog.
Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Crafty Cardmakers is back after a short break with a brand new Challenge.
Judy is our host and, this time around, the theme of the Challenge is Under the Sea or At the Beach!!
As always, you may create anything you like as long as it fits the Challenge Theme.
Just remember to read the rules and be aware of our 15 Challenge limit.

This Challenge wasn't all that easy for me as I have almost nothing 'Beachy' in my stash but, after some great advice from my lovely friends  Heather Jacob and Helen Wallace (Thank you ladies),
this is the card I created.
I actually have Kaisercraft's 'Sandy Toes' paper pad and, when I saw the woodgrain paper, my first thought was 'rundown' beach shack'!  I also found a scrap of the anchor design paper (from the same pad I think) and felt that would come in handy as well.
Luckily, at the last Craft Show in Adelaide, I had purchased the 'Net' chippie by Scrapmatts which could represent a fishing net, so I grabbed that out too.
Scoured the internet to find an image of the rundown beach shack but had no luck so I settled for a rundown Life Guard tower which I mounted on a bit of cardstock.
Distressed all the paper edges and layered it all up with some corrugated board and twine for texture.  I added the micro beads to represent sand (it sorta looks like sand .. doesn't it??)  and popped in some sisal to represent the dried grasses found among the dunes ..
.. and, Voila!!  my 'Beachy' card was done!!

Hope you like my card and that I have given a little inpsiration to persuade you to join in with the Challenge.

For more inspiration just pop on over to the Crafty Cardmakers Post and check out the fabulous creations by the rest of the Team.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #193 - Lots of Layers!!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.  Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

It seems so long since I last created something although it's only been about a month but, I am back now with a card to show you for the new Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers.
This time Chanya is our host and the theme is all about layers!!!  Lots of layers!!
As always, you can create anything you like but it must have lots of those yummy layers!

Here is the card I made.

The papers used are a bit of a mix from Kaisercraft.

Needed a topper for this card and these tags from the ephemera sheet of Megs Garden's Gentlemen papers worked out beautifully.

A little piece from Scrapmatts'  Net 01  chipboard.  I simply dabbed it with a Midnight Black VersaMagic Stamp Pad.

No other embellishments .. simply added some twine to the tags, distressed the edges of the paper and coloured the chippie!

Just a simple layer of matching paper on the inside ..

.. and Voila!!
Done and dusted!!

Hope I have given a little inspiration to persuade you to join in with the Challenge.  For more inspiration, take a look at the fabulous creations by the rest of the Team and then join in the fun!!!

Of Clocks and Cadillacs

Hello sweet visitors .. welcome to my blog.  So pleased that you decided to drop by.

I want to share another 'Man' card with you.
Hope you're not getting sick of seeing masculine cards here.  This won't be the last one either .. I'm afraid I still have a few more to make for this year.

The papers used are from Maja.

This is the 'brother' card to the one I shared here.  They were both made at the same time using a similar design.  Just the colours and some of the elements are different.

The paper under the sentiment was fairly plain so I used a Prima background stamp and archival ink to create some extra interest.

The focal image was taken from one of the ephemera pages of  the Sherlock Vol 2 papers by Megs Garden ..

.. and  I created  the sentiment myself by printing it out and then cutting around it and inking the edges before sticking it down.  Very simple, very easy.
As I was assembling this card, it seemed to be missing something.  Took me a while to figure it out but the twine did the trick!!

The clock is a free image from the net which I printed out, glued to some chipboard and then covered with Glossy Accents .. easy peasy way to make your own flair!!
I really like the look of the corrugated board .. adds a bit of texture and looks fab on a 'man' card I reckon!!

.. and another one done and dusted!

As I said, I still have a few more of these to do and then it's on to .. dare I say it again!! ..
Christmas!!

I am entering this card into the following Challenges..
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

Word Art Wednesday - # 286-287 Anything Goes
The Male Room - # 62 - Off the Edge

Thank you so much for stopping in and taking a look.  I really appreciate you taking the time.

Enjoy the rest of your day!!
Take care and God Bless!
