Spring Pastels Take #1 for Megs Garden

Hello everyone and welcome .. so pleased you dropped by.

I am here to share a card made with some lovely goodies from Megs Garden.

The papers are from the Spring Pastels Collection.  You can buy these in multiple sizes as a pre-printed version but they are also available as a digital download.    I love the digital version because I can print them out as I need them so I never run out and I don't need a place to store
 them .. perfect!!

The top paper layer was edged with the Martha Stewart Floral Vine Deep Edge Punch  (my fave at the moment) .

The chippie is from 2Crafty Chipboard and is a piece left over from another project.  I simply coloured it with a VersaMagic stamp pad and sprinkled it with clear glitter.

The roses are the Puffy Paper Flowers. They come in a creamy white and are so easy to colour to suit any project.  I usually spray them with a little water and then spray again with either inks or watered down paints in whatever colour I need.    I really love these flowers and use them on most of my cards.

The large bloom is the Silk & Organza Primula - black and grey.

Added some die cut leaves, a twine bow and a few mini rose buds (also a Megs Garden product) to the cluster.

More of the Spring Pastels Collection on the inside and, for some reason, I felt compelled to add some washi tape to the side.   Just as well I liked it. LOL!!

Megs Garden has some stunning paper collections and most of them are available in a printed version or as a digital download, or both.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - #181 Love, Love, Love!!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog, hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Lin is hosting the new Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and it is all about Love, Love, Love.
As Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away now is the time to make something special for the one you love, or for someone in love or just something made with love!!
As usual, anything you enter is fine .. a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, home decor .. as long as it has a love theme.

I decided to make a card (Ha!! Surprise, surprise!!  LOL!!) .. a double fold card actually.

We don't really 'do' Valentine's Day in our family so this card was made for a dearly loved friend.
The papers are from Maja Design and were gifted to me by my sweet friend Heather Jacob.

Added a chippie frame  from Imaginarium Chipboard and placed a flair inside it.  The flair was a gift from another sweet friend, Lizzy Hill.

This gorgeous big bloom (another of my gifts from Heather) was white .. I simply sprayed it with some watered down Liquitex Ink to colour it.

The flair below was handmade.  Printed the greeting from my computer, cut it out and then just covered it with a gel sticker .. a brilliant little tip from Lizzy Hill.

A strip of lace for some extra interest ..

.. and some sisal added under the flower for a bit of texture.

The leaves are a die-cut from Cheery-Lyn Designs (Flourish #14).  Have seen these so often on other people's work and always wanted some of my own but couldn't find them anywhere.  Finally was able to lay my hands on them and now I'll probably use them all the time .. love 'em!!!

Usually when I make these double fold cards, I use a ribbon for the closure and then cover the back of the card to cover the ribbon.  This time I've used some magnets so haven't needed the ribbon but I still covered the back  because then, to me, it looks finished!!

There you go!!  All done!!

Hope you like my card and that I have inspired you to join the challenge.

If you do wish to play along, the link is below.  We would love to see you there!

Pretty in Blue!

Hello everybody and welcome to my blog.  So nice of you to drop by.

I have another card to share with you today.
This was created with papers from Megs Garden's Spring Pastels collection.  I actually have the digital version of this collection and so I can print off just the right papers for whatever it is I'm working on.

Made this embellie with a silicon mold and some Modge Podge melts.  So easy to make and looks good I reckon!

Lots of small flowers from my stash in the cluster ..

.. added some sisal and die cut leaves,

.. and popped some prills in random places.

The small berry cluster was white originally .. I simply sprayed it with some blue Liqitex ink.

The inside, with space for a personal message ..

and I also covered the back  to hide the ribbon which wraps around the card.

Voila!!

I really love these pretty papers and am quite happy with the way this card turned out.

Thank you so much for your visit and enjoy the rest of your day.

Take care and God Bless

A Close Friend's Birthday

Hello dear friends and welcome to my blog.  Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.  Let's hope this year doesn't fly past as quickly as last year  did .. I'm sure I blinked and it was gone!!  LOL!!  I also hope that this will be a better year all round than 2016.  So many nasty things happened in the world last year .. just hope this year is peaceful!

So, I have another card to share today.

I actually made this one quite a while ago, last year as a matter of fact .. LOL!!   Really not sure where the papers are from but I think the script paper could be from Pion and the other could be Maja, but I'm really not certain.

The flourish diecut is a Dynamics Die.  I used the blanks on a couple of my cards last year (here and here) and thought it was time to use the actual flourish itself!

The leaves and flowers are available at Megs Garden and the seam binding is from Tim Holtz.

Bought a packet of little Paper Rope Ties a while back.  They actually have wire inside them so I  twisted them losely around a skewer and added them to the cluster.

A fairly simple card to make but still shabby chic enough to suit me!!

Thank you so much for stopping by to  take a look and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
If you happen to live in Adelaide .. try to stay cool!!  Blooming hot here at the moment!!

Take care, stay safe and God Bless.

Clean and Simple - My Way

Hello sweet crafty friends, thank you for stopping by my blog today.

Hope your weather is being nice.  We had some lovely days down here in Adelaide and then all of a sudden we're back to winter again.  Don't know what's going on but I don't think anyone is enjoying these destructive storms we keep having  .. most unusual.  Let's hope we don't have any more.

Ok, finished complaining about the weather.  I am actually here to share a birthday card created for my niece.

This one is a little different for me.   Just recently, in October actually, I participated in the 'Hop to Stop' and created a few CAS cards for it.  (If you'd like to take a look HERE is the link)  They were totally out of my comfort zone but I quite enjoyed the challenge and decided to have another try.
This is about as clean and simple as I got.

After cutting the card base I sprayed the front with a little 'Whale Watch Blue' Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Spray.
I used up some more of those gorgeous Maja papers I received as a gift from Heather Jacob.  After not being able to get my hands on any, I now have so much that I won't run out for ages .. and ages .. and ages and .. well, you get the idea!!  LOL!!

Still used flowers (it is a girly card after all), but only a couple and just added a twine bow.

Added some washi tape under the cluster and a scrapmatts chippie.
The chippie was coloured with  'Lapislazuli' stamp pad by VersaColor and then coated in Glossy Accents.

Popped a few sticky back gems around and added some micro beads as well.  Wanted to add a lot more stuff but had to keep reminding myself that this was supposed to be clean and simple.  LOL!!

The usual on the inside.  One pocket to hold a gift voucher and the other to hold a journal card with a personal message.

Done!!
My version of Clean and Simple and I'm quite pleased with the result.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my creations.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Take care and God Bless.
