White and One???

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.
Today I'd like to show you another card.   This is for a close friend's birthday.
It's a little different for me because I normally would use more colour but this, basically, is white with a few different shades of green.
The papers I've used are from Melissa Francis and Kaisercraft.  I have used a distress tool on the edges but I haven't inked them.     The only inking on this card is on the chipboard frame.

The flowers are from Kaisercraft.  I dry brushed the large rose with some white gesso and placed  the cluster on top of a small piece of gauze.  The die-cut is a Die-Namics Fancy Flourish and the leaves were cut with my Silhouette Portrait and I've shaped them a little and then doodled around the edges.

Here you can see a close-up of the chipboard frame.  This is Make'it'Crafty's Ornate Square Frame and it is lightly coloured with VersaMagic Cloud White and then with VersaColor Laurel Leaf.
I love this little frame, it is really delicate.  I've had it in my stash for quite a while and I'm really pleased I finally found an opportunity to use it.
The vintage brad is from Creative Charms.

The die-cut below is  the Honey Bloom Sprig from Memory Box.  Again, I've doodled around the edges for a little more impact.

You can see the layers a bit more clearly here/

For the inside I've used some paper from my stash and added a couple of strips of the Kaisercraft paper to decorate.   The sentiment was printed using Word Art.

There you have it my lovelies.   This card does look a bit pale but, surprisingly, I quite like it,  hope you do too.

A footnote to my last post where I showed the card I made for my first challenge.  Unfortunately it didn't get anywhere and I am a little disappointed but, it was only my first challenge  and I will try again.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I do hope you will visit again.

Take care and God Bless.

A 'Girly' Card

Hello again everyone.  Welcome to my blog.
My niece turned 14 a few days ago and I'd like to share the card I made for her.
The papers I used are My Mind's Eye's Lost & Found and Howdy Doody and Kaisercraft's Sweet Nothings.  Distressed all the edges of course and inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
Placed a couple of torn and distressed paper pieces in between the layers for extra dimension.   The flower cluster is made up of  Kaisercraft and Prima roses.  The larger flower I made myself and I placed it all on a piece of gauze which was lightly coloured with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  The leaves were cut using my Silhouette Portrait.
The large initial is an Alpha Thin from Papercraft which I covered with some of the paper, and the banner I made myself using a Kaisercraft Stamp.  The doily was very lightly edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
I quite like the colours on this card and am happy with how it turned out ...
... hope my niece was happy with it too.
Thank you so much for visiting and I'd also like to thank those of you who have left me such heart warming comments in the past.  I really appreciate the support you give me.  Thank you so much.
Take care and enjoy the rest of your day.
God Bless.

Tag No. 4

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.
So, here I am with another tag to share.  I'm really enjoying the making of these tags but unfortunately I need to catch up on my card making so I'll have to leave the rest until a later date.  Boo Hoo :(
This tag is one of the few I rescued from my attempt at spraying the backgrounds and is a little more 'grunge' or more male oriented than the others I've made, although it still has a flower on it.

I used a Tim Holtz Alterations die for the embossing and distressed the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The cabochon was in my stash and I glued it onto a brad from Kaisercraft.  The small piece of heavy mesh is actually a piece cut from a roll of gutter guard which I swiped with silver and gold Versa Color.  Some of the cogs are from Dusty Attic and some from Imaginarium.

I love this quote.  It is so true.  We get so caught up in being 'mature' and 'acting our age' that we neglect our inner child and forget to have fun.   We need more 'fun' in this world.

I placed a piece of corrugated cardstock at the bottom of the tag and then decided I needed a metal flower.  Well, of course I didn't have any but I did have some paper petals that I had cut out ages ago when I was putting some other projects together and decided to use those instead.  I just inked them with  bronze and gold Versa Color and they almost look like the real thing.  The brad in the centre is from Graphic 45.
I added some gauze which I coloured with Tea Stain Distress Ink and the cogs which are again coloured with silver and gold Versa Colour.
So that is tag No. 4.  I want to make at least 8 of these tags but, as I said at the beginning of this post, I have to leave the rest for a later date.  We have lots of Birthdays and Anniversaries coming up so I need to make the cards for those or my friends and family will be upset with me and I can't have that.  Too much hassle.  LOL
Once again, thank you so much for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day.
Please take care and God Bless.
