Christmas in September

Hello sweet visitors and welcome to my blog.  Hope you are all having a fantastic day.

Can you believe it's September already??  Read somewhere that it's only about 16 weeks to go 'till Christmas!!   Unbelievable!!!!

I'm here to share another of my Christmas cards with you.  I am trying to get as many done as I can  before the rush begins in November and although I haven't done as many as I wanted, I do have more than at this time last year and that's a good thing!

Used scraps again for this card.  I know the base paper is from Kaisercraft but have no idea where the rest came from.

The white bloom is available at Megs Garden but the rest of the cluster is from my stash.

Finally using up some of the gold stickers I've had in my stash for ages.  I do like that little touch of gold for Christmas ..

.. and I added a few seed beads as well.

The inside, decorated in my usual style .. the small chippy bauble is from Scrapmatts.

Popped some dp on the back as well, just to cover the ribbon.

I actually should have had about 16 Christmas cards by now but I've actually only completed 8.  Rather sad, huh??   Still, as I said at the beginning of this post, I have more now than I did at this time last year .. is good!!  LOL!!

Just a little side note .. I entered my previous Christmas card (Christmas in Ausust #2) into the challenge at Christmas Card Challenges .. and I WON!!  Just want to say a big thank you to all the lovely people over there for choosing my card .. I am thrilled to bits!!  Thank you all so very much.

And thank you, lovely people for visiting my blog and taking a look at my little creations.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day.
Take care and God Bless.

Christmas in August.

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.  Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

So, I have finally created another Christmas card and thought I'd share it with you.  It's still early I know, but there's only four months to go till Christmas so I need to get cracking.
I KNOW!!!  Freaked me out too!!  How did it get so close so soon??  The last one was only a couple of months ago wasn't it????   Seems like it anyway .. LOL!!

The papers used are from Kaisercraft's  'Heirloom'  6 x 6 Paper pack along with a small scrap piece from their 'Holy Night' papers.

Only a couple of layers on this one but I did add a little lace in between.

The white bloom is 'Azalea' available from Megs Garden.  Love this flower .. it is reasonable large but not too bulky, so it's ideal for cards and also very easy to alter, colourwise, if necessary.

The bauble sprig is cut from a cheap Christmas decoration.

When the card was finished, I added a few paint splatters and, while the paint was still wet, I sprinkled some glitter over the top.  You can't really see it on these piccies but the glitter has a touch of gold in it .. looks really pretty.

The chippies are from Scrapmatts . Picked them up at a Craft Show that was on in Adelaide just recently along with some other lovely little bargains.   I've used them raw .. just added a bit of white paint and glitter at the top of the bauble.

I really love this pine bough die from  Impression Obsession.  Think I have used it on just about all of my Christmas cards for this year.

This little flower is the 'Cherry Blossom' also available at Megs Garden.  It was white originally and I just sprayed it with some Dylusion Ink.

... And another Christmas card done and dusted.  Hoping to make a few more this month as I am way behind on my original plan of doing two each month.  Still, I have more cards now than I had at this time last year and that is really good.

Last Saturday I had a girl's day out with Astrid MacClean, Heather Jacob, Adriana Bolzon and Helen Wallace.  Astrid is in Australia visiting her family in Melbourne and was able to come to Adelaide for a couple of days.  It was so wonderful to meet her  in person and we all had a fantastic day together.  Lots of fun and laughter was had by all.  Thought I would share a couple of piccies.

We swapped some hand made gifts as well and I will share those with you over the next few weeks.
Thank you my gorgeous friends for a truly wonderful day.

Once again, thank you so much for dropping by and I hope you have a fantastic week.

Till next time, take care and God Bless.

Christmas Cards

Hello my beautiful visitors.  A very warm welcome to my blog, so nice to have you visit!
So, here I am, back again to share another Christmas card.  I have to give you fair warning, I will be sharing quite a few Christmas cards with you over the next week or so, I hope you won't get too bored.  (I'm really hoping you'll keep coming to visit regardless.  LOL!!)

This one is the very first one I made this year.  It was actually completed at the beginning of November!!!!  Shock!!!!  Horror!!!   Yes, I actually started making my Christmas cards  early this year.  Well, early for me anyway.  Some of you may remember that, last year, I started making them in mid December.  Talk about a rush!!  Anyway, got myself sorted this year and have made quite a few already .. Sweet!!!

The papers used are from Kaisercraft's Holy Night 12 x 12 Paper Pad.  I don't usually buy the 12 x 12 as the patterns, I feel, are usually too big for card making, but this one was ideal.  Traditional colours (which I love) and fairly basic designs.

Sprayed a bit of watered down acrylic paint on the base paper  (it actually is green although it doesn't look it here) and added a touch of texture with a stencil and some texture paste.

Layered some labels from another KC paper line and topped it with the lovely little word circle from 2Crafty Chipboard.  The chippie was coloured with Fired Brick Distress Ink and then covered in Glossy Accents.

Coloured a small piece of gauze with Distress Inks, my flowers with watered down acrylic paint and wrapped some twine around the top layer and finished it off with a couple of twine bows.

Decorated the inside with my usual strips of paper.  The chippy on the side (I have no idea what brand it is) was coloured with VersaColor stamp pads and then coated in Glossy Accents.

Can't believe it is less than a month till Christmas.  Where has this year gone??  Hope you are all staying on track with the preparations!!  We're actually going to our older son's house this year for Christmas and our oldest grandson is cooking the dinner!!  So looking forward to it, going to be awesome!!!

Thank you so  much for visiting and do enjoy the rest of your day.

Happy Christmas crafting!!
Take care and God Bless.

The last of my Christmas Cards

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog space.  So happy you could drop by at this busy time of the year.
Can't believe it's only three more sleeps to Christmas.   Is it just me, or did this year go by even quicker than the last??
I have the last of my Christmas cards to share with you.  Well, the last for this year anyway.  Once again these are very similar to the previous ones I've shown you.   Same ingredients, just a little different in the arrangements!

Kaisercraft DP for the first layer and then Meg's Garden 'A Gentleman on Time' DP torn diagonally and placed over the top.  Added a bit of texture with Crackle paint through a stencil and dry brushed randomly with gesso.

Used some gorgeous 2Crafty chippies again.  A Card Word Circle from the Christmas Set (coloured with Scarlet VersaColor and coated in Glossy Accents) and one of their cute little Mini Reindeers which was simply covered in silver glitter.

A little bit of gauze  (coloured with watered down red acrylic paint) was placed under the cluster and the flowers and that gorgeous little piece of lace ribbon are all available from Meg's Garden.

Once again, the inside was lined with more of the Gentleman papers.  The two pockets were created to hold Gift Cards and a tag for the verse.

On the second card I've used Meg's Garden 'Correspondence' papers.

Distressed the edges as you can see and, again, randomly brushed everything with gesso.  I also added some dry wall tape and sprayed over it with watered down acrylic paint.

The bit of gold chippie you can see is a piece from 2Crafty's  Bubble Grid Panel.  It was cut from a piece which I used on one of my other cards.  I don't throw out odd bits of chipboard like this, you never know when they might come in handy

The flowers are all available from Meg's Garden.  The green one started out white and was a semi opened rose.  When I coloured it with watercolour paint it opened out as you see here.

The inside is also lined with the Correspondence papers and this card only has the one pocket for a gift card.  I will print the verse on a tag and simply attach it to the other side.

That's all folks!!!  The last of my Christmas cards for this year.
This will be my last post before Christmas so, from me to you, I hope you have an absolutely wonderful Christmas.  Lots of love and laughter around the tree with friends and family and lots of the things that matter most to you.
Blessings and joy to you all.

Thank you so much for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day.

More Christmas Cards

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.  So lovely that you took the time to visit at this busy time of the year.
Hope all your preparations for Christmas are going as planned.  I'm pleased to say that all our gift shopping is done, I only need to worry about the food now, and that's a worry enough all by itself!  LOL!!

Anyway, I am here to share another of my Christmas cards.  I didn't make many this year.  We have been so busy over the last few months and we've also been away.  Then, when we got back from our Cruise, I ended up with the most horrendous cold and had no interest in doing anything much.  Most days it was hard just getting out of bed.  Hate colds with a vengeance!!  But, I did manage to make cards for my family so here I am to share another one with you.

As in my last post, I haven't used Christmas papers with this one, I have again used paper from the Gentleman Collection from Meg's Garden.  This one is called  'A Gentleman's Auto'.

I love these papers but, of course, the image of the car was not really suitable for my card so I made sure I cut my papers around that.  I will use that image on something else.

The chippie below is a piece from the 'Bubble Grid Panel' by 2Crafty Chipboard.  The quote is from Kaisercraft's Christmas Carol Collectables.

I simply cut a small piece from the Bubble Grid  Panel, covered it in gesso and then painted the 'bubbles' with acrylic paint and coated them with Glossy Accents.

The inside was lined with the same 'Gentleman' papers.  I gold embossed the edges, did a little stamping and stenciling and created a pocket on the left to hold a tag.

The quote on the tag was found as a free printable on the net.  The back of the tag was left blank for a personal message.

One again, my cards are all very similar this year.  When you have to make a lot of cards for the same occasion it is simply easier to use a design you like and simply change the embellies.  Especially when you've left things as late as I have.  LOL!

To take a look at all the wonderful products in the Meg' Garden on line shop HERE is the link and to find a 2Crafty Chipboard stockist near you, simply send an e-mail to salesat2crafty@optusnet.com.au

Enjoy the rest of your day!
Take care and God Bless.
