2Crafty February Shares #3

Hello everyone!!  Welcome to my blog!!  Hope you are all having a wonderful day.  We are at the beginning of a heatwave here in South Australia.  Going to be in the mid to high 30's all week.  Not looking forward to it at all!  Come on Winter!!!!!!  LOL!!

So, I am back to share the third and final instalment of my February shares for 2 Crafty Chipboard.

'Love'

 Hessian Patch Panel

Word Circles

I used a piece of watercolour paper and created the background on this card with some
strips of paper from Prima's Romance Novel collection and some texture paste through a stencil.  I then did some stamping
and lightly sprayed it all with Fired Brick Distress Ink.

I had a small piece of the Hessian Patch Panel left over from another project and
found it was just the right size for this card.  I coated it with white acrylic paint and
then dabbed over that with Silver Distress Paint.  I really love this panel, it was
the perfect base for my flower cluster.

The Word Circle was coloured in the same manner but this time, before it was dry,
I also covered it in clear glitter.

These Word Circles are brilliant!!!  Small enough to use on cards but also a
good size for Scrapbooking and off the page projects too.

The inside decorated with more of the Romance Novel papers and also a couple of stamps.

Well, this was the last of my 2Crafty projects for this month.
I hope you've enjoyed this post and found some inspiration here.

2Crafty Chipboard has hundreds of designs so I know they would have the perfect size

2Crafty February Shares # 2

Hello everyone, nice to have you back here!!
Well, hopefully some of you have been here before and for those of you who are making their first visit, welcome, and I hope you'll want to come back again!!

This is the second of my February projects for 2Crafty Chipboard and, of course, it is another card.  A masculine one this time.

'You Light up My Life'

2Crafty Chipboard used

Light Bulbs

 6" Clock Frames

These papers are a mix of Kaisercraft and Prima.  Once again, lots of layers!!!  So easy to do and I really love the look.  You simply cut some different sized rectangles, distress all the edges and then layer them making sure to offset them so you can see a little of each.  Very effective!!

I love that the 6" Clock Frames comes in a set of three and that they are all different sizes so they are suitable for all sorts of projects.  I cut the middle sized one into two pieces and placed
them under the paper layers on opposite sides of the card.
I added some patches of crackle paint for texture and once again swiped the finished card with gesso.

The clock was coloured with VersaMagic Midnight Black and then and also with
VersaColor Scarlet.  I didn't cover it completely as I wanted it to look a bit old and worn.

These light bulbs are so cute! I am so pleased I was able to use it here and it was actually the inspiration for my greeting!  It was coloured in the same way as the clock and then I coated the filament with gesso.

Once again I used a piece of chipboard cut from the blank chippie  leftovers as a base for the greeting.

The inside was very simply decorated with some border punched strips of matching paper leaving room to write a message or even to insert a tag.

So, this was card number two and I shall post number three in the next few days.

Hope you have enjoyed your visit and, why not pop over and see the fabulous projects created by my Teamies using some gorgeous 2Crafty Chippies!!  You can find the blog HERE.

2Crafty February Shares #1

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog, I hope you are having a wonderful day.  A very special welcome to my new followers!!  Thank you for joining me here, love having you.

I haven't posted for a while as my life seems to have become quite hectic of late.  I'm going to have to start scheduling some blogging time in amongst everything else as I'm really missing my catch ups with other peoples creations!!

It is my turn again over at the 2Crafty Chipboard Blog and this time I am sharing some Valentines Day cards.  This one is the first of three cards that I will be sharing here over the next few days.

"Be My Valentine"

 2 Crafty Chipboard used

 Elements Set 3

 Ornate Heart Set

The papers used are from Prima's Romance Novel A4 Paper Pad and, as you can see, there are quite a number of layers.  Used my distressy tool to rough up the edges as well.  Love that look.

One piece from the Elements Set was cut in half and used on opposite corners.   They were both coloured with red acrylic paint and then dabbed with Glossy Accents.  I really love the intricate design on these chippies, they are so pretty and so versatile too.  You can leave them whole or cut them up to fit your project.  They may look delicate but they are quite strong.

The Ornate Heart was first covered with some Coarse Texture Gel and then was also coloured with red acrylic paint and covered with Glossy Accents.

The inside was decorated with some strips of the Romance Novel papers.  The bottom strip is a little pocket but I'm not sure yet whether I will actually use it.  Depends on whether I end up printing the verse out on a tag or simply glue it to the card.

I cut a little banner shape from a blank of another chipboard piece, printed the greeting onto a  piec of the Romance Novel papers and glued it to the banner.  It's a good idea to keep the blanks from your chipboard as it can be cut up and used in many different ways.  This was a tip from Janice Nichols one of  my Teamies.  Thanks Janice, great idea!!!

Once everything was dry I brushed around the card with some gesso.

So, this was the first of my projects for February and I do hope you have enjoyed it and found some inspiration.  Over the next few days I will share the rest of my cards.  In the meantime if you would like to take a look at all of them together you can find them HERE on the 2Crafty Chipboard Blog.  While you're there, why not also take a look at the fantastic projects created by the rest of the Team.

2Crafty December Shares #3

Hi everyone, so pleased you could drop by at this busy time of the year.
This is the last of my 2Crafty December shares and it is an AT Block.
2Crafty Chipboard used
ATC Hearts & Stars
Interlocking Grid Panel
Funky Heart Swirls
Summer Leaf Stems

The front with the Interlocking Grid Panel ...

... right side with 1 piece of the Summer Leaf Stems and 1 piece from the Funky Heart Swirls on the lid ...

... and the left side with another piece from the Summer Leaf Stems.

Both of the Summer Leaf Stems were coloured with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  I also opened up the tips of the leaves by wetting them thoroughly and then gently separating the layers.  Once dry I coloured the inside with Pine Needles DI.  I  then sprinkled some clear glitter on the leaves for a bit of sparkle.

Underneath the leafy stems you can see some Viva Crackle Paint that I spread through a stencil.  I was so thrilled at the way it turned out.  I think it looks fabulous.  You can see it better in the photo below.

Isn't it awesome??  After the crackle was dry I dabbed on some silver Distress Paint and, did I tell you I love the result??  This is definitely staying in my repertoire.   Gotta say it again, I love it!!

The Interlocking Grid Panel was heat embossed in silver and then I very gently bent it to fit around one corner of the Block.  Once it was glued down I added some micro beads to the section on the front.

Tucked in amongst the flowers are the small stars from the ATC Hearts and Stars.  I attached them to some wire so they would stand up and also added some micro beads to the front of them.

The main stem of the Funky Heart Swirl was lightly coated in gesso and then sprinkled with glitter.   The little hearts were coloured with nail polish and, while they were still wet, I added some micro beads ...

... and so, as this is my last post for 2014 ...

I would like to wish you all a very, very Happy New Year.  May each new day be filled with happiness and love.
Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you have found a little inspiration here.  Hope to see you back in the New Year.

2Crafty December Shares #2

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.  Hope you are having a fantastic day and thank you so much for visiting at this busy time of the year.
Not long to New Year now!!!   Woo!! Hoo!!
The second of my 2Crafty December projects is a soft and feminine card.
2Crafty Chipboard used
ATC Birdcage
Card Word Circles - Sentiment

Both chipboard pieces were treated in the same manner.  Firstly coloured with VersaColor Umber and then coated with Glossy Accents.  One of the reasons I love working with this chipboard is, you don't have to go to great lengths to make it look fantastic.  You can either just leave it raw or use very simple techniques to add the colour you need.

These Card Word Circles are simply fabulous, they are the perfect size for any card and you get a selection of 6 different greetings in each pack.

The Birdcage comes in a pack of two and you get two little birds with it as well although I didn't use them here.
That stunning bloom is available from Megs Garden as is the mesh ribbon underneath my embellies.  I also added some small beads to the cluster  along with some lengths of twine.

A view of the inside ... just waiting for the sentiment.

Hope you enjoyed this post and that I have inspired you a little.  Tomorrow I will be posting the last of my December Shares.  Hope to see you back here then.  In the meantime, why not go over and take a look at all the wonderful projects created by my Teamies HERE

2Crafty December Shares #1

Hello everyone, and welcome.  So pleased that you made the time to visit at this busy time of the year.
So, Christmas has come and gone and I hope you all had a fabulous day and didn't suffer too much with the holiday hangover.  Now we can look forward to the New Year and, probably, an even worse hangover!!  LOL!!
It's my turn again to share some things I made using some fabulous pieces from 2Crafty.
First up is a very masculine card made for my oldest son's Birthday last month.
2 Crafty Chipboard used
Hessian Patch Panel
World Globe & Ink Set
As I am wont to do on my cards nowadays, I added some patches of Clear Rock Candy Crackle to the paper.  I love that textured look, especially on 'man' cards.

I only used the quill and ink bottle from the World Globe & Ink Set.  The ink bottle was coloured with Black Soot Distress Ink and then covered in Glossy Accents.  For the quill, I coloured the feather with VersaMagic Cloud White and added some light shading with VersaMagic  Midnight Black.  The spine was then coloured with  Distress Ink and coated with Glossy Accents.

The Hessian Patch Panel was cut into three pieces and was left mainly raw.  It was just lightly sponged with gesso as I didn't want too much colour on it.  The pieces were then layered in between the papers.  I really love how it looks, it just added the perfect accent to my card.

Once everything was assembled I simply dry brushed some gesso around the card, just as a highlight and accent.

This was the first of my 2Crafty Chipboard December projects.  I will be sharing 2 more over the next couple of days and I do hope you will have the time to come and look.

Thank you so much for visiting and leaving a little comment.  I would love to know what you think.
