The Last of My 2Crafty October Shares

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.  So pleased you dropped by.
I am back to show you my third and final October reveal for 2Crafty Chipboard.  This one is a another feminine card but in a more mixed media style.

2Crafty products used:
Interlocking Grid Panel
Word Circles Set 1

The background on this card was actually created for an Art Journal page but, as I never finished the page, I thought it would work well as a card instead.   I simply added some strips of Prima's Cartographer paper and machine stitched around the edges.
The Word Circle was painted with Acrylic Paint and then sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist.  Unfortunately the shimmer doesn't show very well in the photos but it looks quite pretty in real life..

I cut a piece from the Interlocking Grid Panel and also covered it with Acrylic Paint and Glimmer Mist.  Added some thread and micro beads for a little more texture.

A piece of gauze, some flowers and gold stamens ...

... add to that a pretty bow ...

... and my card is complete!

I really love working with 2Crafty chipboard pieces.  They are Australian made, of excellent quality and there are so many fabulous designs to chose from.

2Crafty October Shares # 2

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.  So pleased you came for a visit.  Hope you're having a wonderful day.
I have the second of my 2Crafty October projects to show you today.  This one is a masculine Step Card.

2Crafty Chipboard used:
Asst. Arrows
Chevron Bits
Gears
Compass
Chicken Barbed Wire Small

All of the chippies were coloured with Kaisercraft Red Gum and then I randomly added Lapislazuli and Silver to the Gears and Arrows.   I also randomly added some clear embossing powder.  I wanted these pieces to look aged so didn't want them shiny all over.  As you can see, I also curled some coppery wire around the arrows.

For the greeting, I first coloured these two arrows and then wrote on them by hand before clear heat embossing them.  The Chicken Barbed Wire was coloured the same as the other chippies but was not heat embossed.

Tied this little cog on with some twine and added the chunky arrow.  I really love how this turned out.

The Chevrons were added to the side panels to match in with the paper.

As I said at the start of this post, this is the second of my October reveals for 2Crafty.  There is one more to show you and I hope to do that in the next few days.

I really hope you liked my card and that I have inspired you to get some 2Crafty Chipboard for yourself.   They have the most fabulous pieces and a huge range to choose from.

2Crafty October Shares # 1

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog!
I am back to share my October DT creations for 2Crafty!  I have three of these to share with you so I will spread them out over the next few days.
This card is fairly clean, in other words, there is no inking or stamping or masking.  I usually end up doing one or more of those but, funnily enough, I didn't feel this card warranted any of that.  I actually liked it as it is.  Go figure!  LOL!

2Crafty Chipboard used:
Flourish Adornment Set 5
Frames Tiny Kathleen

The papers are from Kaisercraft's Now Boarding Paper Pad and, as you can see,  I just did a little stitching around the edge.
I wanted the flourish adornment pieces to stand out a bit from the rest of the card but I didn't want a lot of colour so they were very lightly brushed with Wild Honey Distress Ink.   Then one piece was placed at the bottom of the cluster ...

... and the other piece at the top.

I usually like at least a few layers on my cards so you can see a paper doily, some gauze and a small tag with the Tiny Kathleen Frame placed over the top.  The frame was coloured with Versa Magic Cloud White and clear heat embossed and I then added a Tim Holtz word Band to complete the card.

The pretty flowers are from my stash and I just added some delicate stamens to complete the cluster.

Decorated the inside with more of the same papers  and left space for the sentiment on the die-cut.

Hope you like my card and that I have inspired you in some small way.   My next reveal will be posted in a couple of days, hope to see you back here then!

In the meantime, why not check out the 2Crafty Blog for more inspiration from my Teamies and take a look at the gorgeous chippies that are available from 2Crafty Chipboard.

Thank you so much for visiting and do  enjoy the rest of your day.
Take care and God Bless.

My 2Crafty September Reveal #3 - 'A Gent's Tag'

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to my blog.  Hope you are having a really enjoyable day!
I'm back to share the last of my 2Crafty projects for September.

This piece is a Masculine Tag.
2Crafty products used
Barbed Wire Border
Compass
Mini Fob Watch
Mini Rulers
Gears
A blank from the Tiny Edwin Corners

The papers used are from Prima's Engraver Collection.  The small piece of the Mini Rulers was brushed with some watered down gesso and, when it was dry, I swiped it with Tea Stain Distress Ink.  Coloured the Compass with Distress Inks as well and then covered it with Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint.  Except for the ring around the edge which was left raw, the Fob Watch was coloured with gold Versa Color and then covered in Glossy Accents.  I love that the details of the watch still stand out really well even after colouring it.  Awesome!!

Randomly swiped the gears with Midnight Black Versa Magic and then with Lapislazuli Versa Color.  I also used some Kaisercraft Red Gum and then Silver Versa Color so that they appear old and rustic.  The Barbed Wire Border was also coloured with the Midnight Black Versa Magic and then randomly swiped with a little silver and gold.

Originally I was just going to tie the word band at the bottom of the Tag but, it looked a little bare and needed something underneath to fill the space.  As I was looking through my chipboard pieces I discovered the blank from the Tiny Henry Frames which I had used on a previous project.  I simply cut away one of the centers and inked the edges.  Trimmed a piece of scrap paper to fit and then just tied the word band over the top.  It fills the space up nicely!!

Once everything was assembled and dry, I randomly swiped around the finished Tag with some watered down gesso.

As I said before, this is the last of my 2Crafty reveals for September.  I hope I have inspired you to get some 2Crafty chippies for yourself.  They have a fabulous range to chose from.

My 2 Crafty September Reveal #2 - A Canvas

Hello everyone and welcome to my Blog!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!!
I'm here to share the second of my 2Crafty September projects!!
This one is a small canvas.  It measures 5" x 7".

2Crafty products used
Heidi's Vines
Leafy Shrub Set 1
Barbed Wire Border

I took a leaf out of Di Garling's book here in that I coloured these chippies black.  I love the dramatic effect of the black against the pale background and it really does make them stand out beautifully.  Thank you for the inspiration Di!

Spread some coarse texture paste through Tim Holtz' Lattice stencil and coloured the background with Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays.  Did a bit of stamping with Black Soot Distress Ink and  accented the paste with gold acrylic paint.  The photo doesn't show it very well but the gold really does shimmer nicely in real life.
I had some left over pieces of the Heidi Vine from a previous post HERE and decided to use them in the flower cluster.   I added a little texture paste to the 'bulbs' and coloured them with Distress Ink and then used gold acrylic paint for the accent.  The leaves were sprayed with water and then I gently separated some of the layers.  Shaped and curled the layers while they were still wet and coloured them with Black Soot Distress Ink.  Once they were dry I used the gold acrylic paint to colour the ends of the leaves.

The leaves on the Leafy Shrub Set were shaped and coloured in the same way as the Heidi Vine leaves.  I really love how they turned out.  This is a fairly delicate piece but it was still robust enough that it took the shaping very well.  I really love these chippies they are so easy to work with and they look stunning!!

The Barbed Wire Border comes in a pack of two and they are about 12" long.  I had intended to put a quote in the corner but decided instead to use a small piece of the Barbed Wire Border as an accent.   This was also coloured with Distress Ink and gold acrylic paint.

Here is another closie of the flower cluster and those gorgeous Heidi Vine leaves.  Love how they look when they're separated and curled!

This is only my second attempt at a canvas.  Not sure that I've actually nailed it yet but I think I have improved slightly over my first one.

This was the second of my 2Crafty projects for September, I will be sharing the last one in a few days time.  In the meantime why not pop over to the 2Crafty Blog to see what my Team Mates have created with these wonderful  chippies!!  HERE is the link!  To find a 2Crafty stockist near you ... drop an email to salesat2crafty@optusnet.com.au

My 2Crafty September Reveal #1

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  I hope you are having a wonderful day!
It is my turn again over at the 2Crafty Blog and I would like to share the first of my September DT projects with you.
This is a card I created using some of their gorgeous chippies.
2Crafty products used
Heidi Vines
Mini Chicken Wire Barbed
The papers used are from Maja and, as you can see, I did a little stamping and stenciling as well as some doodling around the edges.

Lightly sprayed the back of the Heidi Vine with some water so it could be slightly shaped.  It was then coloured with Distress Inks and brushed with gesso.  I also added some texture paste to the 'bulbs' on the ends  and coloured them with Distress Ink and then swiped over the top with gold Versa Color.

The Chicken Wire Barbed comes in a 6" x 6" panel.  I simply cut off some small pieces and painted them with white acrylic paint.  While they were still wet, I sprinkled them with clear glitter and, when dry, tucked them in between the paper layers.  I love the look of torn paper and making some small tears over the chippies helps to show them off.

A closie of the flower cluster and that's a pleated doily peeking out from the rips in the paper.

Decorated the inside with a strip of the same paper which was edge punched with Martha Stewart's Optic Dot  Border Punch.  I also added a few strips of washi tape.

As I said at the start of this post this is the first of my 2Crafty projects for this month.  I have two more to share and I will be posting them over the next few days.  I do hope you will  come back to take a look.

My first Canvas and a RAK from a Sweet Friend!!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog!
Hope you are all having a lovely day.  The weather here in Adelaide at the moment is gorgeous!!  It's a beautiful, sunny winter's day.   Temperature is still a bit cool but out in the sun it is so lovely!!  Have to make the most of it because it probably won't last, but one can hope can't one??

Today, I'd like to share with you my very first canvas.  Have been itching to do one for ages but was a bit intimidated by the whole idea, and then I thought, 'what the heck', can't be any harder than an Art Journal page and I've already done some of those.
So, here it is!
I love the combination of orange and blue and, although the shades weren't quite what I was after,  I'm quite happy with the background.  I just watered down some acrylic paints and put them into a sprayer.  After the paint was dry I sprayed again with some Pearl Glimmer Mist for a bit of shimmer, although that doesn't show in the photos.

That stunning corner chipboard piece is the Corner Flower Vine from 2Crafty Chipboard.  I used texture paste to rough it up a bit and then used acrylic paint to colour it.  I won't bore you with the details of how many times I actually painted it and gessoed it and then painted it again.  Originally I wanted it to be green but I just couldn't get the right shade with the supplies I have on hand so, in the end, I had to use the blue.  I do actually like it that way, which is just as well!!  LOL!  Once it was dry I randomly brushed it with some gesso.

Did some stencil work with texture paste and then needed to spray the background a bit more so the paste got some colour as well.  Both of the pretty lace ribbons are available from Meg's Garden and I obtained the quote from the net.  I simply wrote it out by hand onto some plain paper and inked the edges.   That gorgeous key was coloured with acrylic paint and then lightly brushed with gesso.

The flowers are mainly from Kaisercraft except for the small deep  red one which is also available from Meg's Garden.  The cluster was placed on top of a piece of gauze and then dry brushed with gesso to soften the look.  The small sprigs are pieces from a wooden flourish by KC, I simply cut off the bits I wanted to use.  The small hearts are also from KC and were coloured the same as the corner vine.

So, now to the random act of kindness.
This key is my favourite part of this canvas.  In a recent post of one of my cards (you can find it HERE) I lamented about using a lovely little key which had been in my stash for quite a long time because I loved it and hadn't wanted to lose it.  I'm sure you've all been there.  Well, my sweet cyber friend Linda Eggleton saw my post and contacted me to say she had a couple of similar keys and would be happy to send them to me.  I was gobsmacked.  How awesome was that??  Of course I said I would love to have them and she not only sent me the keys but I also received the most gorgeous tag that she had made.  I am over the moon!  Her tag now takes pride of place in my crafty space.  Thank you so much Linda, you are so kind and generous!!
A closie of the key ...

... and Linda's gorgeous tag.
If you don't know Linda's work, HERE is the link to her blog.  She takes the most beautiful photographs and makes the most stunning Scrapbook pages and cards.  I love her work!!

Isn't it gorgeous??  I love the colour and the textures ...
... the sweet little butterfly and key, and the pretty ribbon ...
... and the hearts and fabulous blooms!
I love all the many layers as well.  There is so much to look at on this beautiful tag ...
... simply stunning!!!

... and a final closie of my canvas!.

I hope you've enjoyed my post and that you will go and take a look at Linda's Blog.  You won't be sorry I assure you!!  She is one talented lady!!

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope I have inspired you a little today!!
I do hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
Take care and God Bless.
